IE only. FF throws a wobble.

http://topic.expreview.com/2007-10-23/1193114539d6255.html

some highlights (cant copy pics so easily in IE)

system load (W)

idle: 8800GT uses 18W less than an 8800GTS and 52W less than an 8800GTX

load: 8800GT uses 20W less than the 8800GTS and 84W less than the GTX

(all other components kept the same)

overclocking: stock cooler, stock volts: 600MHz stock to 730MHz OC.

im gonna guess around 850MHz core with voltmods and water. (thats a GUESS!)

performance in games is generally between 2900XT and 8800GTX. Beats 8800GTS in ALL tests.

Dont buy an 8 series now ;) The GT will be out soon. Its already been listed on one UK etailor, preorder at £171, but was pulled.

****!

For that price.....

seeing as their feedback is hit n miss, is anyone near:

Kikatek (UK) Limited

Unit 406, Montrose Avenue

Slough Trading Estate

Berkshire SL1 4TJ

picking up a few in hand would be foolproof, or close enough

Sadly I fail to be surprised, im that bitter and twisted I never expected a £150 tag.

Maybe the 256MB model will be £150?!

So the 7900GTX watercooling block I have now will fit?

Reference the price - it will come down, we know launch price is always 10-15% more than real price, patience my friends patience, £150ish is but one to two weeks away when all e-tailors will have stock to give away :)

Info was posted at VR-Zone.

I'd be cautious about full-cover waterblocks, but i'll cautiously say that all core-only cooling will be good to go, assuming this info is right (and it would be a pretty major screw-up if VR-Zone got it wrong)

EDIT:

A piece of good news for the enthusiast, the 8800GT comes with similar mounting holes as the the 7900GT/GTX as illustrated below!!! Enthusiast can recycle their Zalman[/URL'] VF700/900 and other similar coolers with their new 8800GT! woohoo!

and:

8800GT is the one at the bottom! From that, all full-cover blocks can be compared for fitting

Things are looking good, when you think about the tri M/B's that are now available, things are not so bad at this price, it wont be a big problem like the cost of 3 8800GTX/Ultras
