i have heard rumors that the 8800 is not truly dx 10 and is like what happened to the FX 5 series which claimed to be dx 9 cards but they were merely dx 8 is this true?

Well I just read my box and it says "Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Shader Model 4.0 Support"

But it will nice to see what DX10 is like in real life.

lol, The FXs ran DX9 when it first came out.. But near the end they started to LAg behind.

So Thats what will probably happen to the G80s:mad:

EDIT: Although I remember running Oblivion on a FX 5950 Ultra! :D

EDIT 2: I would like to see a 7800 run CoD2 maxed and smoothly.. :(

they are compatible, just the driver support isnt there yet... they released the card without the drivers to back it up

nvidia is working on it i believe

The 8800's fully support MS's DX10 requirements, something that the FX failed to do (not full SM3 support etc).

We just have to wait for DX10 and some better Vista drivers from nVidia
