I have $800 to spend, and i want to update my rig with intel equipment. All i need is RAM (preferably 6gb to 8gb worth 1600mhz or higher with good timings (below 7 if available)). intel 960 or better, and a top of the line MOBO.

I plan on doing some heavy overclocking!

Remember i have $800 not one cent more.

Catch is is it must be through AMAZON.

i have no idea were you are shopping then.

Sabertooth with intel 960 is only $484.

Well lol dude.. When you said top of the line... Nobody figured you were talking about a 200 dollar Sabertooth... When you say x58 and top of the line you get the... G1 sniper (440) G1 Assassin (530) Evga classified 3 (370) Asus rampage extreme black edition (580)... Sabertooth is a good board but Hardcore OC'er no... Not at all... Its pretty much a base of the line board and will hold a mild OC... and plus assuming you have said nothing about a cooler you will be using stock... So hardly any OC at all...

i also referenced the Gigabyte gorilla.

Also my friend has the sabertooth and got his 950 to 4.3ghz stable, and has hit 4.5 but get hot. seems high enough for me.

Well as you see again, Its the words you used... You said you want a TOP OF THE LINE MOBO. A 200 dollar mobo is fairly bottom end if not cheapest ATX size mobo in the x58 fam... Its just what you said. Next time maybe dont say top of the line mobo... Put more context into it. Because when im shoping for a car and head to the local dealership i ask for the top of the line car im sure they wont show me a freaking civic... But yes i heard like i said it is a good board, Should do good but also you need to have a decent cooler like i said... Stock wont OC very much at all.

no offence but i did not expect a smart ass in here.

Top of the line does not mean that it has to be a $600 board. it just needs to be something that is made by a very reputable company, and has very nice features. OCing was just a secondary option that i added later in the post. and the sabertooth as my friend has been telling me is a very nice ocing board.

the other boards you are bringing up are useless to me unless i plan on doing some LN2, which is obviously not the case.

First off... I was making a joke. Dont insult me anybody else will agree with me im trying to help aka reason why im asking what cooler you will be using and trying to help. You posted something that is completly different then what you obviously want.

Notices the "I plan on doing some heavy overclocking!" to me that doesnt seem like a secondary thing... it was stated as the main basis of what you wanted the board to do. Along with your "and a top of the line MOBO." Was trying to help But i will leave you to what you want to do... Help yourself

the three words "I plan on" should immediately tell you (according to the English language) that its not a top priority.

Whatever man. That clearly not only meant something different in my eyes but to somebody else who posted. I would like to help you. I apologize for coming off however it was taken.

cat fight!!!!!!

OK now lets kiss and make-up I think a sabertooth as a top line mobo as well I don't think top of line has to mean the most expensive cause as we all know shite comes in all price ranges. That being said since were talking X58 then you'd want 6 or 12 gigs of ram as its tri-channel. Now I would go Sabertooth and 960 in a heartbeat or maybe a 950 if that saves abit. As for ram I have looked at thier dual channel mem before and didnt like waht I saw hopefully its better in the tri-channel route.

I am also on the edge of just getting a new AMD board and 1090t. Once i switch to intel i will have to re learn all the overclocking for intel. i have not overclocked an intel sense the E4400 days. I understand intel is faster all around but there are a few things that are having me lead towards AMD again. AMDs stay WAY cooler than intel, and its cheaper.

I AM IN A SEROUS PICKLE

now that i think about it, i think i am going to still with my 790fx Crosshair formula III and wait for the am3+ boards to come out before i get a new board but still get a 1090t. yea i know its a weird decision to get an am3 chip and want an am3+ board. i dont feel like i will utilize 8 cored for some time and mobos should not be replaced every year.

Not to mention my board from 2009 has given me absolutely 0 grief sense i have had it.

you forgot the rampage III extreme is still a top of the line mobo,i find it better than the black edition, more professional.
