7970 OC'ing help.

Hey people, i'm trying to OC my 7970 to 1125/1575 but when i start up BF3 it Insta freezes goes to desktop and a little balloon pops up: "An AMD driver has stopped working and has recovered succesfully" should i up the voltage? or is my 7970 just not an overclocker?

Up the voltage and you should be fine.1.2-1.25v.

Have you got power control to +20% in CCC? If you haven't do that first, then download Sapphire Trixx and up the voltage to 1.2v, also disable ULPS from Trixx. Trixx will work with CCC rather than against it.

i use MSI Afterburner and i've upped it to +20% already also whats the max temprature i wanna go for? 85 degrees-ish? will upping the volts to ~1.25 damage it over time? I don't want to break a (Back when i bought it 530 Euro) Graphics card so i'm being very careful

you dont want to go over 85 border, you can always go for a 1.2v and a smaller oc

sounds like you've got unlucky if you cant overclock to 1125 on stock voltages, most reviews i've seen out there have no problem.

I'd check to make sure its not an application specific problem, try it on other games and on some benchmarks.

Also might be worth running driver sweeper in safe mode and doing a fresh install of the latest drivers, if you dont use CCC id advise not installing it

My ccc doesnt work and does driver sweeper delete all drivers or just componement specific ones? Also what is the "85 border"?
