7950 or 7970

I'm looking for a new gpu and of course the club 3d poker edition cards caught my eye. I've seen the review of tinytomlogan of the 7950 royal king and i couldn't believe that the gigabyte 7970 windforce and even some GTX680s were outperformed by that card. But i consider the 7970 royal queen as well, the problem is i can't find any reviews, especially non that overclocked it well. the 7970 royal queen is about 70€ more than the 7950 royal king, is it worth it? i'm open for other GPUs as well, as long as they don't blow the budget of 350€.
/edit/
oh and i have been looking at the Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X OC and the Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 FleX OC Boost as well. same price range as the 7950 royal king

please do not buy club 3d, buy a retailer, even that will be better.

if you are going to spend so much money on a gpu buy it so it will actually last couple of years, i recomend brands such as, asus, gigabyte, evga

Just as a point of comparison, the Club3D 7950 Royal King I bought doesn't overclock at all. I mean that literally, even trying to put 10 or 20MHz on the core causes hefty instability and artifacting. You might get lucky, but don't buy one expecting to OC it, buy it for the stock performance and view any OC you can get out of the thing as a bonus.

Umm.. what's wrong with Club 3D?

Several people on here have bought one and although they are good at stock non of them even overclock a little without crashing.

@op

I can recommend the Asus DCII TOP 7950, I have one myself. It's a really quiet card and overclocks well also.

i was considering that one as well. it's weird that the overclocking capabilities vary so much from card to card, like i said, the overclock in the review was outstanding.

Isn't it the same with most card manufacturers?

Not really, most cards vary in the amount they overclock, silicone lottery and all but for several people to buy the same card and not one of them overclock even slightly without problems is more than just coincidence if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing, I am really surprised cause I heard they are good over-clockers, heh.

uhm i guess the Asus Direct CU2 won't work for me, it only has one DVI port and i definitely need two.
/edit/
the fuck in a review it only had one DVI port, on the website i want to buy it on it has two

I know dude :D

I think the one Tom was sent was a cherry picked one. It could be the people from here that bought one got unlucky and got one from the same bad batch, it's just a bit weird that all of them have probs when overclocked.

You could try the Vapor X or the less expensive Powercolor 7950 if you want something under $350. Weather they are overclockable or not.... it's a gamble but remember that you're paying only for what's coming out of the box.

mate i'm from germany, there barely is a 7950 for more than 300€. for 350€ i'd get a proper 7970. i think i will stick with the 7950 and therefor i will get a new PSU or something.

I was looking at the newegg prices and I was also talking about USD not EUR. I don't know how prices are in germany, but here in Romania they are 25% more expensive than they are on newegg. could be the same thing in germany, I dunno.

i know you meant USD, but those prices are way different from here. but i guess it's my fault, i should have mentioned where i'm from. it was no offence intended

oh i definitely will. just need to get a camera from someone, my phone wont do it justice. will probably get a noctua or corsair high pressure fan for my h60 as well, im still running the stock cooler which is loud as hell. 1300 rpm should be enough right? my temps currently don't got any higher than 42°C at 1600 rpm.

It should be alright... they push alot of air too and they are perfect for radiators. ( Corsair ) as for Noctua fans, they are good performers, but I don't know which will win if you compare them... maybe the Noctuas will be quieter, I think.
