Hi,
I have a 7950, running in the x16 PCIE 3.0 port on my ASUS P8Z77-V deluxe. The bottom heatsink of the motherboard has an LED underneath it which shines through, but with the extended graphics card, this blocks it out.
So, I'd like to run the graphics card in the lower slot as i think it would look better. Would i see any performance decrease by doing this?
The manual says the board has: '2 x PCI Express 3.0*/2.0 x16 slots (single at x16 or dual at x8 / x8 mode'.
The top slot is electronically wired to x16, whereas the lower one is only wired to x8 - making the motherboard quote a tad confusing.
So I guess my question is, will running my 7950 on PCIE 2.0 reduce my performance?
