7850 With Corsair 430w

Hi guys

Just wondering if I could get a definitive answer to to whether running a 7850 with a 430w Corsair builder series would be ok! I've also been looking at a 650ti but obviously the performance isn't as good and in most reviews the power draw does not seem to be much less? I will be playing wow and very few other games! The spec of the rig is as follows:

MATX b75 Board
i3 3220
Cx 430w
Crucial m4 SSD
2 Case Fans
8gb DDR3 1600mhz 2 sticks

I know a 500w PSU would be ideal but I would like to avoid replacing it if possible as the rig is brand new, also the psu has one pic-e connector there's reports of some 7850s having one and others having 2?

Thanks!

If you use the Corsair PSU finder you will see that the CX430 V2 does come up as compatible even if you select that you will be overclocking.

Here is the link if you want to check it out http://www.corsair.com/us/learn_n_explore/?psu=yes

But I would rather go with the CX500 just to be safe, and it includes 2 x pci power connectors, where as the 430 only has one

Hope this helps :)

Thanks a lot! Basically Ive cost myself 50 pounds due to my own stupidity, Ill just order a cx600 with the card as its only a fiver more than the 500 and hopefully Ill never have to end up buying one again!

I think you will be very happy with the 7850, I just moved over from Nvidia and can't be happier. And you can't go wrong with Corsair products IMO

I have a XFX 7950 running with a corsair 430W on an i5 3570k and i haven't had any problems but i know its not the safest thing to do so i will be upgrading. you will need 2 4pin molex to 1 6pin pci adapter and every thing should be fine, my friend had a cheap 600w power supply with a 560ti super clocked and every time he played a game his computer would just switch of when we hoked his pc up to my power supply we had no problems. The 430 is a great power supply but if you have the money don't risk it just buy a bit bigger from a trusted company!

Thanks a lot for your help everyone, Ive just ordered a 7850 with a 600w corsair PSU just to be safe!
