So guys i am looking for a suggestiin here.i am thinking of buying a 780 but i found a deal for a secont hand titan.prises in greece for the nonref 780s are the following

Asus dcu II OC 591 euros
Gigabite windforse oc 584 euros.
The titan that i found is at 650 euros sealed in the box never used and with full waranty.the guy who sells is is 100% trustworthy.
Sooooooo???? What would u do in my place

GTX 780. Still saves a fair bit of money and if you overclock it even the slightest it's going to be quicker than the Titan. Will also run a bit cooler and quieter.

I suppose it comes down to whether you would benefit from the extra memory on the Titan with 6GB over the 780 with 3GB.

Personally though when they're both new, and the difference is only 60€ I'd probably just buy the Titan anyway.

If he's gaming on 1080p, he won't need 6GBs. It's a good point though. @OP; If you plan to game on 3x 1080p or 1440p, getting the Titan might be benificial.

Looking at your specsheet (signature) though, there are other upgrades that you could use the €60,- for.

Lastly, with the 780 Ti coming soon, the Titan will most likely become obsolete and your resale value with go down massively.

Yeah that's true, it may be worth just waiting about a month to see what Nvidia's new cards offer, and they'll also make the current cards cheaper :D Win win

yeah i am gaming on 1080p and will stay on that res for much longer :-P i ll probably go for the 780 and save A bit more money to get a 3570k or something cause i cant afford a cpu+mobo upgrade too

guys this is a damn no-brainer, even if the performance difference is small, you got 3GB extra VRAM and you get a titan badge, how cool is that? those 50 euros in difference won't make a whole lot of a difference to you anyways with that kind of a budget.

Waiting for a month is actually not a bad idea. Probably what I would do, the GTX 670 will be more than fine for another month :p

Erhmm no. The performance will be about the same (the aftermarket 780s will actually be quieter and cooler), except the Titan will cost him €60,- more. Money that he could use on other components that he needs/wants.

The extra 3GB will do literally nothing on 1080p and the Titan badge is only for e-peen/ bragging rights. The Titan will also be really difficult to get rid of in a few months with the 780 Ti coming out and possible price drops.

who knows how long he will be using the titan and what he is gonna do in the next two years, also both the 780 and the titan are cards made for the e-peen, nobody needs either one for 1080p gaming, so might as well pay 60 euros more and grow the e-peen a little bit more, it's really down to how badly he wants it. the jump from 600 euros to 650 isn't that big either.
+ why would he sell that card in a couple of months?

At that price get the Titan, in a years time it will still have a higher resale price than a GTX 780.

When the GTX 780ti arrives it will be targeted to sell at the GTX 780 price point, meaning new and second hand GTX 780s will drop in price.

I say wait. Even a 290(no X) will be on par with a 780 and maybe cheaper.. Still great performance and less money you are spending.. Or go the 290x route if you please. Also a 7990/690 are just as cheap but more performance than any single card, just another option if you need massive performance now.

he doesn't have a GPU atm, he can't wait.
and i am pretty sure that the 290 will be somewhere between the 770/280x and the 780.
the 7990 might be an idea though, i don't remember the exact price but it was dirt cheap a while ago, wasn't it?

Yes. I can find one in the US for cheaper than a 780!

From spec sheets the 290 is in between the 780/titan. So we can infer it's going to perform in between them; but we all know how that usually works out.

It's on Aria for 455 quid, which translates back to €538,-

Found it in a Dutch webshop for €513,- for the Gigabyte one.

Only downside is... It's basically like running CrossfireX :\

Crossfire has been pretty much fixed with 13.8 drivers. He just needs a PSU to handle the power draw, which he does:p

That's good then! :D

Leaves me wondering why these cards aren't more popular?

for the same reason why people still don't like asrock a whole lot. used to suck really bad, now it's decent but the bad experiences keep people from buying. i wouldn't buy a dual GPU card because no matter how much they tweak the drivers, if the game doesn't support it it's gonna be bad. also dat power draw
