Hello,

I'm new in this forum and I would like you to help me. I need MB, CPU, VGA and RAM. I already have a case (Cooler Master HAF932) and a Power Supply (Corsair TX850W). With this computer i want to start programming, doing the first steps on this matter, and i want to play some games. I choosed for thr VGA the HD5770, it's engough for me now. Please help choosing the other parts.

P.S. : If this isn't the right section, please, moderators, guide me. thank you.

Well for that sorta cash you can get yourself a nice futureproof PC, a Core i5 750 is cheap and cheerful, P55 motherboard and 4Gb RAM to go with, and any hard drive will do, no need for RAID or Solid State. You can program on absolute crap PCs *cough* College PCs *cough* so I am thinking more on the gaming side here, but i5 seems like a decent route and will keep you under 750euros

+1 on the i5 and P55 for options.

Yes exactly, you might see an improvement on compile times but its hardly worth shelling out a lot of dosh for.

Compiling will not take long anyway not matter what system you're working on, unless you've got hundreds of thousands of lines of code :D.

You can begin programming on any old rusty piece of... stuff. A E5200 is good for programming.

I would be a mistake to build a programming/gaming machine. The gaming will win every time.

Ok, thank you for repplying. I choosed these stuff:

Maximus III Formula (i will do some OC, i will need your help)

Core i7 860

Gskill 4gb ECO CL7 1600Mhz

Saphire HD5770 Vapor-X

TOTAL in Portugal: 700€

So, i have one doubt. I have seen 2 different versions of the mainboard, one with IDE port and other one without it. Where i can buy the IDE one? It's because i still have an IDE HDD, so I wanted to keep it until i bu other one, so I have still 50€ to buy a nice cooler. I will do some OC and some movie editing.

Keep feeding ;)
