6gb 7970!!

perhaps this could be useful for Flight simulator enthusiasts who have a gajillion screens because I play FSX from time to time and I can defiantly say there is alot to be rendering if you have it maxed out (view distance/graphics) Can't really think of another situation where this could be used except for that one guy who has like 4 projectors spanning across a massive wall.

its too fool the idiots, im sorry but everyone in my uni group always compares graphics card by the amount vram......marketing i tell you!

This GPU was aimed at those using massive resolutions, not those running single screens. Crysis 2 with maldo mod hits over 3gb on 3 2560x1600 displays. Also the biggest bottleneck (which i stated earlier) with big crossfire setups and sli setups is VRAM. if you have 4 580s in SLi and you have the 1.5gb version, you were foolish to get them. The cores are more than enough to handle what is tossed at them, but you only have 1.5gb of usable vRAM so you will bottleneck the hell out of all 4 with any resolution bigger than 1920x1080 in modern games.

it was meant to sound retarded. But i can understand the reasoning for the amount of vram, its just not practical for 99% of the gaming market

That is true, neither was the eyefinity 6 card back during the 5xxx series when it had 2gb of ram. the 7970 by itself is not practical for 99% of the market either. This is meant for those who want to Xfire without the bottleneck of low vRAM.
