Holy shit thats gonna fu**ing awsome!

I understand this is overkill, but if you were going to do 3 or 4 way crossfire you would really need around 6gb or video RAM. Because if you are running a resolution that will need 3 or 4 7970,s measly 3gb wont cut it.

This is pretty cool, completely and utterly useless to me, somebody who is quite happy playing at 1080P on a single monitor, lol.

It's becoming a peeing contest between AMD and Nvidia now.

Nvidia one upped AMD with 4gb and now AMD have come back at them with a 6gb card, next we will probably see an 8gb card from Nvidia.

Will be interesting to see how competitively priced against the 4gb 680s this 6gb card will be though.

Think about it. It would take playing crysis 2 at a resolution of 12,800x3200 to utilize close to 6gb.

That or try and run BF3 twice.

BF4 maybe ! or Crysis 3 !

2 games. 4g is too much, 6g... Having said that, they put 1g on multimedia cards for no reason.

Some people will buy these tho.

This is now finally interesting. The cards memory finally caught up with the resolutions some people game in. In the 2560x1440 resolution the most I've seen was 2.5 GB VRAM usage. And I don't even remember what game and why. But during the testing that's most I ever saw. Usually I remained under 2GB at all times. Back in the day with my Surround setup 1.5 GB of the GTX480s I was using was not enough. But I suppose for 3x 1080p 3GB would be enough. This type of a card in 3-way might be interesting for 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 resolutions in Eyefinity to max out most or every game.

This is really cool actually. It was about time that the graphic cards VRAM catches up with some of the display setups extreme enthusiasts use

There are some RTS games that will use 2.5gb at 1080p, and Crysis 2 with Maldo mod uses around 2.5gb and hits 2.7gb at some parts on my friends 7970.

Rastalovich's vRam thread is suggesting that games will fill spare vram space with common textures etc to buffer games beyond what the game is actually using at the time. It's not entirely clear how much of this is useful to maintain fps and how much is just filling up space for the sake of it.
