This log will go on till i get all the water cooling parts and have them installed. I hope this log can get some people who are willing to help me and i hope this log can help other who are first time water coolers.

As the title says i will be water cooling the 6990 over the course of around 3 weeks (because i am still waiting for parts to get here) and i will be taking snap shots of quest.

ENJOY!

Here is the Koolance pump/tank. I have tested it and it works fully to my knowledge of water cooling. It didn't make any abnormal noises, sounded smooth both with and without water. The "out" pushed the water very quickly.

Here is the Koolance "high performance" coolant. This stuff smell like straight Vodka and burns like a bitch when it gets in a cut. (I did not use this to test the system. I used tap water).

4 feet of tubing! Better to have more and have extra than not have enough.

I will be updating this regularly.

So after placing the 5.25 pump in the bay i was measuring all the necessary items to make sure to get the right barbs next time i order. It seems as though i am going to need a lot of 90 degree barbs. i will be needing 2 of them for the pump itself and another 2 for the 6990 water block to avoid any kinks in the tube.

Also i want to test this pump for a few hours. Can i just use the 4' tube as a loop and run tap through it for a few hours?

Here are some pictures of my test loop.

Here is the PSU running it all. This thing is loud as a mofo!

But everything is working very well. I will be testing this for several hours on all the settings. Looking for leaks, breaks etc.

I would test it for 12-24h just to be safe

I just got done doing a 18 hour test.

But i have one question that i am still thinking about. How will i go about putting it all together? I need to test the loop with the RAD and block. then i need to put the block on the 6990 (obviously) and place it all in my computer. unfortunately getting quick disconnects is out of my budget. so this is going to be difficult so i dont dribble in my computer.

Just make sure you jump start the power supply without the 8 pin cable attached to the motherboard. Then at least if you do dribble, non of your components will be live...

I dont need the 8pin attached. i just use the a little wire and connect pin 4 to pin 6 on the 24pin.

Yep whatever you do, do NOT connect the 8 pin to your m/b when jumpering your psu, or you will fry your board. Green wire to any black...

. still have another week before i order the rest of the stuff though.

IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!

I already know i can hit 1100core and 1430mem stable on my GPU (USING a open mini fridge blowing chilled air in the case). but that was all my fridge could cool. I cant wait to see higher than that. im hoping to hit 1300core and 1500mem.

I know right. With the temps that i am about to be pounded with if my GPU is not watercooled I may as well use it as a stove
