6970 7870 or 7950?

Hi.

I've decided to upgrade my system this year from AMD to Ivybridge, including a new graphics card and full system watercooling, but which do I go for?

Bearing in mind I'd also need a waterblock, which is the best option for price / performance?

I'm only gunna be running 1 screen at 1080p, and I'd quite like to get as close as possible to maxing framerates.

So, any advice? Or do you have any other options that may be more appropriate?

I understand the 7870 waterblocks arent out yet, which is the main reason the other 2 are even on the list, but I wont be building this rig until next month so I'm guessing they will be by then?

Thanks for the help

I'd get a 670 if you can afford it, make sure it's a 680 pcb one and you can slap a 680 water block on it.

Thanks for the idea, why the 680pcb specifically? And how would I find this this?

Tbh, I was struggling to justify spending £300 on the 7950, and it looks like this would be even more, and I'm half thinking that any of these 4 cards would be overkill?

What SieB said basically, it's the best performance/price ratio out at the moment. If you get the one with the 680PCB you can slap a 680 waterblock on it

You can see by the back of the card, it the PCB is as long as the cooler or not. If the cooler part sticks out it is a shorter PCB ^^

If you can not justify spending more then a 7950 amount of money then stick with that. It's the best of the bunch you listed.

The 670 water blocks are not out yet but the 680 ones are so if you got a 670 with a 680 pcb you can use a 680 water block on it. The difference between the 670 pcb and the 680 pcb is the size, the 670 is shorter than the 680 pcb.

If £300 is your budget it looks like a 7870 and a water block, that should come to around £300. 670 is the best card for the money at the moment though £310 for a reference card and just under 680 performance, to be honest, apart from looks watercooling one isn't really needed they run cool and quiet as it is.
