6950 or 560 Ti

Hello again.

Just received a message from a friend asking me which of 2 products he should buy, a 1GB 6950 or a 560 Ti, I know what I would have originally chosen but with the radical price drop the 6950 has had it looks to me that the 6950 is the better card at that price, I will no doubt be recommending a non-reference cooled card.

He will AFAIK only be gaming so an Nvidia card for folding purposes is of no use to him.

Is this the right decision or does the 560 Ti still beat the 6950?

I have tried recommending a reference 570 but have yet to hear back so don't make that suggestion.

At 213£ from aria,the msi r6950 twin frozzr III.Just a little more than 200£ .

Good performance out of the box,msi military class components,2nd to none build quality.

If i wasnt folding,this would be on my shortlist.

OK he came back to me with a no to the 570 and a closer price to aim for of £180, have suggested this to him regardless as it's only £10 more than the original xFx XXX 6950 he asked me about.

The coding we do and the programs I believe he uses probably don't make much use of CUDA, and I don't think PhysX will be a deciding factor as only select titles use it.
