6870 Crossfire Question

Hi there i have been using a XFX 6870 1GB for some time, and recently i wanted a bit more power as Skyrim sometimes dips below 30FPS (with a HD 2k Texture mod) on maxed settings. I decided to just spend £120 on a second XFX 6870, instead of blowing £300+ on a new card. I will upgrade to a newer card at some point and put the two 6870's in my other PC but for now this seems to be the best option for quick power until the current cards come down in price a bit.

My current XFX 6870 is this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-205-XF

The one i want to buy is this one http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-xfx-hd-6870-double-d-cooling-4200mhz-gddr5-gpu-900mhz-1120-stream-processors-2x-dvi-hdmi-2x-mini

A few quick questions, will these cards work in Crossfire.. i know they are both XFX 6870 1GB but the DD cooling card has a different PCB and wondered if this would make a difference.

Secondly i assume the DD cooling card is the same card just with a different cooler on, but do u think there will be any difference in performance between the two.

finally if your wondering why i want the DD cooling one instead of the same as i currently have... well.... i jst think it looks better lol

Any Help appreciated.

Cheers

u won't have any problem xfiring those cards even if it was for 2 different brands

DD is better, more cooling. It's cheaper too. Go for it. Anyway doesn't skyrim not like crossfire. I don't think they fixed it yet. So just a heads up... I had serious issues with dual 6950's in skyrim. (my old build)
