660 Ti vs 7950

As these cards are pretty much at the same pricepoint I was wondering which is better, upon looking at some reviews I noticed reviews are really inconsistent. Some reviews showing the 660 Ti is better than a 7950 (just about) and another one showing that the 7950 is better than a 670. What do you think? What performs better?
And what card do you prefer based on other things such as AMD/nVidia software and otherthing like the way the 660 Ti's power connectors are half way up the card etc?

I think the 7950 is a better card.
But - I would not buy a reference AMD card again - and I did find my old 7950 very loud, and so I upgraded to a 670.
I also dislike the short pcb of the 660ti, but there are non-reference versions around that dont have this.
I also think the AMD software is better - but having said that, I never used the AMD or Nvidia software anyway.

However...
I wouldn't buy a 660ti as the 670 isnt that much more expensive and is a fair bit better - and I wouldn't buy the 7950 for the same reason...but that's just me.

If you can find a good deal on a dual fan non-reference 7950, I'd get that. But if that meant the price would be up to anywhere remotely near the 670 - I'd be getting the 670 instead.

3d monitors - 670>660ti>7950 - amd's 3d is supported by a few expensive monitors and is a bit 'clunckey'

it's a bit complicated but the 660ti is a bit redundant considering the 670 is so close in price and performance better so persuming you using 1 monitor 670

In reality though - all the 3 cards will max out 60 FPS on pretty much every game after an overclock so you may as well just save money if you dont have plans to get more screens. However - on my 670 I can enable v-sync so the card is hardly stressed and so the fans dont even spin up more than 30% (KFA2 670) whereas on say the 660ti you may have to overclock a fair bit and so things may get louder - that'd be my reasoning for getting the 670.

not sure about that as a fka2 660 Ti 3gb is £250 and the the kfa2 670 is £320 so its a fair wee leap
however I see that between another ref 660 Ti and a cheaper non ref 670 is not that much but some people just can't afford to go that extra bit like it's just outa budget.

Out of the above I would go with the none ref 7950. The sapphire cooler is known to be quite quiet

I'd probably get the KFA2 660ti 2GB tbh...
Just because it looks amazing. And I know how quiet the KFA2 cooler is, and that's still a good price.

The KFA2 670 fluctuates massively in price on overclockers - the lowest I've seen it go was £309.99, which I'm sure it will go back to over the next couple of weeks.

I did get massive coil whine from my 7950 when I had it which has completely put me off the 7950 - and there isnt exactly much between them. If you're after the very best performance/price, get the standard non-ref 7950, but I think the 660ti will be very similar performance really, and probably a little quieter and less power consumptious

ye i've been facing the same decision and from what i've heard, if you want to overclock, get 7950, if you don't, get 660 ti

Personally I have never had a problem with AMD drivers
