650D vs Switch 810

First time posting :)

So i am replacing my current computer, and i have got all the components chosen except for one of the biggest parts: the case.

basically i am down to the 650D vs the 810, but i am open to suggestions.

this rig is going to be primarily for gaming. i plan on starting out with mostly air cooling, with a H100 for the processor, but moving to my first true water cooling setup with a year. i also really like blue, so i am going to use some blue LED's, either in fans or in the strips. i don't plan on this thing moving around to much, maybe a car trip every 6 months that is less than 2 hours.

so what im asking is which one do you, the (hopefully) more experienced masses think i should use?

If you're handy with a dremmel, both cases would do just fine.
The Switch can hold stuff natively, though, and at bigger thicknesses of radiator.
Both very good cases :)
Also; welcome to the :oc3d: forums!

Well that that then. Ill be getting a White Switch 810.

I asked because i was debating the mid tower vs full tower and those two cases i really liked. But if all the replies are immediately pointing at the full tower, then i now know that mid tower is probably not that great a choice when you building a good loop, at least not without cutting it up to make stuff fit. Like i said it would be my first water-cooling loop, so i wasn't really sure.

Anyway thanks for the help, ill be sure to post some pics of it later in the year

I hate the looks and all the plastic of the Switch, so i'd suggest the 650D. IMHO it looks and feels so much better!

Have you looked at the CM Storm Stryker / Trooper?

The CM690II is also a decent choice - no mods needed for 2 x 240 radiators.

I wouldn't touch the NZXT due to the flismy plastics as previously mentioned.

I don't like the 650D much either... the top panel / grill looks unfinished.

600T Special Edition in white might be an option for you if you like the 650D. *Note the SE is different to the standard 600T internally - looks better too. ;)

there is nothing flimsy about the plastic on the Switch 810 I have had my 810 since about 1 week prior to release (got a review sample from a reviewer) And I have taken it apart far more than I have with any of my Cooler Master cases. I'm not saying CM cases are bad mind you but I have had the plastic tabs on those break off. Not deal breaking breakage as theres normally adequate tabs to keep it closed. But with as many times as i have taken the switch apart none has broken or even given me a hint it was about to. The plastic on it is top notch imho. Those that complain about the plastic on the 810 have most likely never had one in their hands to see its alot better than the pics show. plus really how many cases out there dont have some amount of plastic on them??? not many

The only experience I've had with an NZXT case is from my mates Phantom. I have to say, the plastic in that did feel very cheap.

I think there's several different meanings of 'cheap' when talking about cases though:
-low cost plastic that looks low cost and crap
-low cost plastic that looks good
-high quality plastic that still looks tacky.

Having not owned a switch myself, I cant really comment on the build quality - but I do still think from pictures it looks pretty poor design, and doesnt look great quality, even if it is a very high quality plastic.
Whereas the plastic on my CM 690 II looks high quality, and feel it as well.

For my mates - when putting the top panel on, and pulling the front panel off, it felt like it was just going to break. I'm avoiding NZXT cases because of this, as I dont really like the look of the gloss plastic anyway

Each to their own, but after seeing the 810 in the flesh I wouldn't buy it.
