I've been dealing with a purchase all day and I've landed on an EVGA 780 "SC".
Here is a link.

I need a new PSU (my current Thermaltake is 5 years old). I've been thinking to get a Corsair RM850 (Gold). But is 850W enough to handle 2x780, when they are overclocked?

On top of this I have an 3570k at 4.3GHz, and 8GB ram (not OCd). I also have 4 fans on my H100i.

yes, the RM850 will be fine

Well thats great to hear. Im just reading alot of ppl saying that if you do OC (which it already is from manufacturer), and you have 2, you'd want a 1000W to leave some "headroom"... But I guess if it really isnt enough I'll learn it the hard way.

i had two 780s on my ax860i, did not encounter any problems

I dont know what difference watercooling makes to PSU. :D
And I guess the jump from Gold PSU to Platinum PSU isnt too big?

well just saying that there was no temp limit so i could push them. didn't get lucky with the chips though. pump adds a bit of power draw but that's about it. you'll be fine
gold is more than fine

Okay, cool. Thank you for your help. Ordered them both now. :)
Not getting the 2nd GPU any time soon, but it was nice to know for the future.

One thing you should think about with GTX 780s in SLI is upgrading to an i7 like a 3770k. In a lot of games it won't make a lot of difference but in a few modern games using an i7 can help in driving a couple of cards in SLI.

Its only a few months ago I bought a used 3570k. Im afraid its not in my budget to already replace it, and im currently happy with it. Like said however, im not planning on adding a 2nd card any time soon. Im certainly first gonna see how the i5 performs when I do finally add a 2nd however.
