Hi Guys,

Currently half way through my new build and just wanted to know what may be a better replacement for the front stock fan in my 600T SE case.

So Far..........
I have replaced the top 200m with x2 (quiet) 120mm Corsair SP's outside the case and into my H100 on the inside, and rigged these into the H100 control unit, all good.

Replaced the rear stock fan again with a Corsair SP 120mm but I have rigged this fan into the motherboard, both rear and top exhausting.

I have started research and intend to do some more but wondered what other 600T SE users have done out there, or is the stock fan perfectly fine ?????

I will remove this fan and take a look to see if I can attach 140mm x2 would be nice but i know that wont fit OR something maybe something with at least more beans that would get more air into my system.

cheers KANEY

I have the same fan (black version) in my 650d, and I'm not too happy with it, not quiet and it doesn't move a lot of air. When I upgrade my rig the next time, I'm gonna cut the mesh out and rivet a 2x 120mm radiator grill to the front.
If you don't want to mod your case get something like a Bitfenix Spectre PRO 200mm.

Wow, the white one looks awesome, never seen it in a Swiss shop :-( I hope it uses the same hole spacing as the original fan, it would look very nice in your rig

Yeah I would think so, I up for modding the case if it needed it I WANT THIS FAN :-)

Ok, im not an expert in any way.. but if Im not mistaken wouldnt it be more silent with 2 120mm fans in the front aswell?

as far as I know 200mm fans are always noisier than smaller fans.. 120mm is the sweetspot I think?

again, i dont know that much about it, so dont flame me too much.. :D

A 200m fan should, logically, be quieter than a 120mm fan. It would have to spin at far lower speeds to shift the same amount of air.
Like for like, or RPM for RPM, a 120mm fan would be quieter.

yahr I see your point, and again I might very well be wrong..

but if you think about the big fans people use in the the house or at work to keep cool on a hot day, they make a lot of noise, atleast from my experience. but its not the fans itself, its the turbulence (maybe not the correct word to use, but hopefully you see my point..?)

Yeah, but that's on a much larger scale, and such fans are less refined than the ones we put into our pride and joys. They also have loud motors, etc.
The only thing I would say, is that more development has been put into 120mm fans as they are the most common. I have Noctua's NF-S12b, and at 12v it's almost silent.

The spectre pro will screw straight into the front generally. The mountings will line up.

-I had to file off part of the mounting as it clashed with a plastic knub from the front panel, but others didn't.
-I had to remove the hard drive cages as they compressed the frame of the fan by a couple of mm, again others didn't -_-. I think my 600t is a bit dodgy.

I need to remove my front 200mm stock fan from the front of the case properly, I have had a bit of look but unlike in the lid there is set positions built in to accommodate both x2 120mm fans and other fitting zones to sit your 200mm fan but only in the lid, for the front this is different it looks as though it just houses the 200mm fan, UNLESS i mod the case just a little to accommodate x2 120mm

Noctua's seem to be the kiddy but its just the ascetics for me Josh.

All the Corsair fans I have fitted so far are the Quiet versions, if 2 120mm can do a better job of pushing are into my case I would happily go for that option over a single 200mm, I will look at the stats and if needs be mod my case to take the best option.

This Could happen NRG I have that dremel ;-)

I have removed both HD case from direct front and will keep just 1 case but moves further inside and on the bottom to give a better air circulation and flow.

Is it wrong for me to half way through this build and already thinking about my next build, just slimmer and more refined may even set a budget !?!?

ok you are probably right.. :)

the last time I looked in to this was a few years back and everyone said that the bigger fans where bad, but I guess they are more popular now and so the companies put more effort into making them more effecient and silent. :)

Replaced stock 200m fan with .......

Hi All,

After some good advice here I have replaced the stock front 200mm fan in my 600T SE with the 'BitFenix Spectre PRO 200mm' all white and very nice.

It is actually much better than the stock and is pushing air in much much better so I think a good replacement and in keeping with the white case :)

All went in very easy.

Spec:-
900RPM
Air flow 148.72CFM
Air pressure 1.26mmH2O
Noise 27.5dB(A).

KANEY.

Can you run the hdd rack on its original position with this fan?
I have to run both racks so am just wondering if its possible or if only 1 hdd is usable

Hi Random Sheep,

you can run both racks in there original position if you wish no problem at all, as you can see from the pic I am curretly setup like this.

Now looking at this pic if I move the drive bay and attache this at the bottom it may look neater? maybe worth a try perhaps.

Regards
Kaney. :)

Yeah, it'll probably look a bit better and also restrict the airflow to your graphics card a little less :)

You could also try to find a different place for your SSD's, like in the 5.25" bays (with adaptors), on the back of the motherboard tray or on top of your power supply ^_^
