I am a complete and utter noob when it comes to soundscards but I am pretty sure you can change the equaliser on a system wide scale in the Realtek HD Audio Manager. It obviously depends on what board you have and which drivers are installed. There is a preset called "Bass" which could come in handy or if you're feeling up to it you could tweak with the sound equaliser graphically.

Cheers

My motherboard (Asus Crosshair Formula IV) doesn't have Realtek audio or I would have done that.

since saltire35 started a thread on gaming headset, i would also like to ask for opinion on these headset.

steelseries siberia v2, corsair 1300 and roccat kave 5.1.

which one is best for performance(i mean sound and build quality)/money with asus xonar dx?

If any of you wish to use your PC gaming headset with you X-Box or PS3, I can fully recommend the Astro Mix-Amp. Pair the Mix-Amp to a good PC headset, and you've got one hell of a combination.

i have just ordered the corsair 1300 as my plantronics are now held together with tape... does any1 have anything to say about those?

I chose the Siberia v2's over the 1300's based on this thread and other reviews I've read. The 1300's were a close 2nd though. I'd be interested to hear any feedback you have about the Corsair's once you get them. Cheers.

they should be arriving on monday. if i dont like em i will return em to amazon and get the siberia v2's.

and a quick note to anyone out there. DONT buy ozone onda st, the sound is shit

just got my 1300's they are pretty sweet, nice snug fit, the padding on the cups is very plush and moulds to the side of my head completely, may end up being a little sweaty on a long session, but the sound is very clear, have set the xonar dg to >64 ohms, with a little eq tweaking they produce nice clear bass, and the high notes are very clear, im not a audiophile but i do like a decent sound.

EDIT: just had a play on mw3, sound is pretty crap tbh. not impressed, great for music, it is like ther is no real umph in the drivers, even with EQ tweaking the power is just not ther, shame, i guess im gonna have to return these also. so. siberia v2 it may have to be then

When i play games like BF3 using my siberia v2, the bass is very good, i was pretty amazed as these were my first gaming headset. The clarity is amazing

Looks like I made the right choice... didn't think the Corsair 1300's would've been that disappointing though.

Are you ok to RMA them to wherever you bought them from even although they're not 'technically' broken?

this is the reason i buy things from amazon, however, uk distance selling laws. if you are not happy with a product the seller has to give a refund. (according to my missus).
