5 Million race ... again ?

My EoC is fine, but what's annoying is that my ppd dropped again
sad.png
and when I checked the gpu is only at 87%-90% ...... Some of these WU just don't make sense,

The new GPU work units are awful. It would be nice if the PPD was tweaked on them to compensate them not running at 100%

I'm getting a constant stream of 8034 WU's on the GPU and usage is 99%. 25 K PPD and 20K on the CPU, but I'm not folding full time on the weekends as I game as well.

Hey Xoh so if I do happen to bet u too 5mil, ur gonna buy me some beer
wink.png
haha

I have a GTX560Ti folding at somewhat close to 20k PPD with crap WUs (it's decently OCed) and an i7-2600k currently without OC @17k PPD.

Also running an i7 920 and a GTX 260. Oh, and an impressive ~250PPD VM ;-)

My two main rigs are here in Austria, where we currently have about zero degrees celsius and the rigs are cooled with fresh air from mother nature, so I can achieve really impressive OCs.

Biggest disadvantage is, that I do not fold 24/7 >yet<.

Do you still want to enter this competition? :-P

lol its ok, i wouldn't want to ship the beer that far

haha

and dam, turn all that **** on so we can better ati technologies faster

Actually. 20k PPD on the 560 Ti is with the GOOD work units. You'll know the bad ones when you get one.

I have the 560 running at 1150/2300/2400. At really good WUs it scores up to 24/25k...

...I love winter-like temps outside. Great for freakin' OCs ;-)

The really bad ones only run the gpu at +/- 90%. At 900 mhz core I get between 8000 and 8500 PPD. At your clock speed you might just get 11k

And I was unhappy with the 17/18k ones. Might just tell my uplink not to forward these

crappy WUs to my client, so they are left over for my direct competitors :-P

Anyone knows the IOS-Command for checking a WUs PPD?

Looks like mrDMxtreme will be hitting the 5 million mark first
smile.png
. I've had bad luck with the 3000+ point CPU WU's as of late and have missed out on a large amount of points
sad.png
. No worries as I'm looking forward to the race to 10 million

I seem to be averaging 32,000 PPD but it will take me years to reach 5 mil,

Don't worry mate if you are averaging 32k PPD, you will reach 5 mil in approx 6 months or so
smile.png
. I started folding at the beginning of December and I have been averaging around 35 - 40K PPD and it will take me a couple of weeks to reach 5 million. As I said above if it were not for the bad SMP WU's I've been getting I would have had a lot more points and with the bad luck I've been having my average has dropped massively

Don't worry mate things will turn around they always do, just keep soldiering on and just know in your heart you are doing your bit to help.

Thanks man. I know I'm still contributing to the cause, but it's frustrating when WU's that take more than a day to complete don't register. Hopefully it's just a temporary hiccup

great my computer shut off last night... probably would've been done after 1 or two more wu if it didn't act up like that.... i really wanna get a new ssd over the summer.

Yeah, it always happens when you're away from the computer, damn technology!!!!

You can do something against that. I have got myself a static IP, so I can access my network at home

just from everywhere without problems, and some devices support remote-boot/-reboot/-shutdown/-...

So you can simply access your network from outside and reboot the stuck system.

But this all does not help when loosing the connection to the router

(I had almost a whole day not needing my computer for anything else but could not fold,

because the router simply fu***d up...

good old router, almost perfect engineering-work from Cisco Systems, R.I.P^^)

i have a static ip where i'm at now, but that wouldn't help, i think the reason my computer does what it did is the ssd.. the only way to fix it is a full power down (i mean i need to turn off the psu from the back.. wait a few sec.. and then turn it back on and everything works just fine then. also it happened when in the room i was in, lol, i was sleeping so didn't notice
