4890 1GB + 4890 2GB Crossfire.. Whats gonna happen?! :)

Hi guys,

I have a 4890 Vapor-X 1gb Version and I am looking to buy another now for CF,

Just wondered what the crack will be if I buy the 2GB version of the card instead of the 1GB version as I can actually get it cheaper.

Will it just use 1GB of the Onboard and mirror the other card? Or will it use the 2GB?

Nothing apart from the 2gb card will run at 1gb to match the other card.

it will match the first cards 1gb, but it will still only use 1gb total iirc and not 1gb from each.

Naaa if you are running 64bit OS it will page 1gb from each card

You can get the HX750 (TODAY ONLY) at zipzoomfly for $130 AR. I bought mine this morning.

Please tell me where I can get the Vapor-X 2GB version of the 4890 cheaper than the 1GB??!?!?!?

Maybe the OP can let me in on where they found the 2GB card for less than the 1GB card too. I would like to buy 2x 4890 2GB VaporX for Crossfire in my system.

What's the cheapest you've found a 1GB Vapor-X 4890 Biscuit? Am thinking of doing the same thing and get another card for CrossFire. Hoping a 650W Be Quiet PSU will be enough but I don't have a watercooled rig and that many HDDs.

Cheapest I've found is about £165 mate, but should be coming down soonish now the 5 series are out....

Sold my 4890 in the end for £130 on ebay, was gonna buy another but I just thought I'd add the extra and get a 5870 if I can find somewhere with stock! lol
