Ok the time has come for me to make the purchase as I need some more power.

My question is has anyone stumbled across a cheaper version than this that isn't a Sapphire? I need something with a little longer than 1 year warranty.

Getting sick of waiting for Dabs to get stock so if I can't find anything else, I'm just gonna buy of them and get in line for when they do get stock.

Ahhh ya see now that's what I'm talking about...

I checked there recently but it was at the higher price. Just looked on Scan and they do the Gainward for £340 plus £7 postage whereas CCL are doing it with free next day shipping....

Take it that's 1 year with CCL and the other 2 years direct to Asus?

Im sure you'll be very happy with the result! My card happily runs Clear Sky at 1900x1200, full DX10 enhanced dymanic lighting and all settings on full. Shame about the constant crashes the game causes!

You may want to edit some xml files in CCC to adjust the fan speed as the card does get very hot. For some reason my rivatuner is unable to adjust the speed (not sure if it's just me).

Yeah will do ... And yeah get a bigger monitor.. I kept putting it off thinking I didn't need one but now I'd never go back.

Of course... That's a given. I've been saying as soon as I get it I'll get some benchies up. I squeezed every last drop I could out of my old hardware.

I'll give it a go when I get it installed. If not I'll have to do a lil search to find what needs tweaking to get the fan up. Does the latest CCC not allow you to do it then?

It does but you need to create a profile and then just edit 2 lines in the xml file it creates for the profile to adjust the fan speed. Then it's a case of opening CCC and selecting the profile or using a desktop shortcut. Plenty of info on google. Im sure there's an even easier way, I just have 3 icons with different fan speeds.

Just looking it seems rivatuner does work for some if not most people. Mine just doesn't seem to want to detect low level fan settings meaning I can't adjust the slider.

I hope so too.... Will have to wait and see.

About to clean off the stock thermal cack and stick on the MXII to the cores.

Well after finally getting it to work last night I loaded a couple of games to see how it was.... It squealed quite a bit on the loading screen of Stalker (1st one) as it was hitting 3000fps... In the game it died away. It seems to happen when you have seriously high FPS.

Loaded up Crysis and had a little play around.. Can get about 40 - 50 fps in the first section with all on very high on a 24" monitor but without any AA... Stick up the AA to 8 and it dropped fps down to 30ish which isn't smooth enough for me. I think I'll just stick to Very high with no AA with Crysis as I believe the later levels get more taxing on the card.

I haven't really tried anything else.. Oh yeah actually the FIFA 09 demo which is capped at 60 FPS.

Stalker FPS went from around 45 - 50 on my 8800GT to something like 120.

Will get some benching done as soon as I can but I have quite a lot on at the moment.
