3DMark 2006 Scores: Show It Off!

Will do.. At work now and gotta sort out my mates new comp (i sold him my old one) with all his files... Will get on to it after that tonight as i'm probably not going out anywhere interesting.
 
Hi, I was wondering I just ran the free version of 3Dmark06 and got just over 9000 but some similar systems with the same gfx card and rougly same clocked cpu seemed to get alot higher. 13,000 infact. I noticed they were using the pro version, is it possible they have changed options that I cannot allowed them to get a higher score? I just cant see how they done it other wise! Or maybe I'm missing something...

You can change the options on the pro version.. if you where to lower the res it would give you a higher score.

But we all take into account this. We mostly compare the default basic options.

So yeah! :)

Ive got a very similar setup too that but the 640mb version. i get 9k on stock iirc. bit of overclocking and you'll break 10k no problem. 13k is the GTX level really. Or very highly overclocked GTS (under water as a minimum).

Ok so here we go... I've found my limits with frequency:

686mhz

1032mhz = 2064mhz

Even one notch more on either and I get lil yellow lines on ATITool. It takes a few mins for them to start to show and even then not very often but they are still there. At the above settings though its fine and totally stable after 10 mins and not going above 63 degrees. Will benchmark in a min :)
 
Bungral that is fooking stunning!

I wish I could get mine to run at those speeds, I would have to put the bloody thing under water cooling to run that.. ;)

You said it froze in 3DMark06 though? Have you left the artifact test running for about ten minutes? I'd imagine you'll see some lil yellow lines at some point.
 
Do you guys both have the 320mb version?

Im running the 640mb so that could be a factor.. maybe the 320 is just a better clocker? :eh:

Well it hit 10453... Its gone down now since I accidentally hit find highest core in ATITool and it went above 720mhz and shutdown... Since that its lost a little in the scores and is only hitting a lil above 10100.. Think I need a nice restart and clock it down to normal for a lil bit to let it recover from the abuse.

But yeah 10453 is not bad at all for my ACFP7 air cooled E6600 system with stock cooled gfx card at 686 / 2064.

Oh yeah just for comparison... Here is the results from my first no OC test and my best oc test just now.

3DMark Score 8904 3DMarks

SM2.0 Score 4232

HDR/SM3.0 Score 4026

CPU Score 2002

3DMark Score 10458 3DMarks

SM2.0 Score 5 K

HDR/SM3.0 Score 4857

CPU Score 2193

The CPU has plenty more to give if I had better cooling but sadly I don't and seeing as my system cost no more than £650 - £700 i'm happy with it.
