3930k Hardline do not exceed temp?

Hi team,

Just wondering is anyone aware of the do not exceed temp for the 3930k?

I've recently installed a Xspc Raystorm AX360 kit using coolermaster Sickle Flow X fans for Push/Pull (found that they were really good Air Flow Vs Pressure Vs Db) + another 6 fans installed in my Switch.

Atm at a sort of idle temp for my Cpu is sitting steady on 35-36 degree C id estimate the current ambient to be approx 18 degrees C whilst under load (from Prime95) getting 53-56 degrees C. Please note that these results are for my current OC of 4.4ghz@1.35V not stock.

So yea dose anyone know the temp cap? also what is a sort of do not exceed for the Vcore?

once i know these things i can get in there fiddling again and see how far i can drive this bad boy.

I have my 3930k at 4.6ghz with 1.425v and when I ran prime on it for 10 hours the cores peaked at 80c.

I rebuilt my system at the weekend and I ran it again for 10 hours and the temps peaked at just over 75c and that, is now with 2 GTX 680's in the loop and them being stressed at the same time.

So your current temps are fine really.

I would say try and keep your cores below 80c if you can and I think it's a max of 1.45v for 24/7 use but I could be wrong.

That is a lot of volts man. I always thought the max volts for 24/7 use would be 1.4v. Also you should be able to get 4.6 ghz at a lower voltage than that depending on the lottery obviously. Mine is running 4.6ghz at 1.336v

Just bump my Vcore up to 1.365 and the multiplier to 46.... So time to test!! Id love to be able to get it to 4.8 :-) or above if i have the room lol

Fired up Prime....instant BSOD

Will have to test at lower voltages when I get time but it's fine at the moment, and I only load the OC profile for when I need it.

i've managed to get it stress testing had to go to 1.380 and boost the PLL

at 4.6ghz with those voltages holding solid at 60 degrees.

but my CPU-Z is telling me my Core voltage is at 1.44

Which is no where near were i set it.
