3570k temps?

Hey guys,

I've read a lot about the high temperatures of the IB chips when bigger volts are pumped through them for overclocking. What kind of temps are people getting with what volts and what cooler etc? I'll be building my first rig this summer, with a 3570k, Nzxt Havik 140, and an Asrock z77 extreme6. Any info would be appreciated

There's plenty of documentation to be found about this already.

The Havik 140 is a nice cooler, but the heat problem with these IB CPUs can't just be solved with good cooling.

In short you will not be able to OC further than say 4.6GHz on air, if even that far.

Go find reviews of these chips. There's plenty of good sites that have OC results as well.

Overclocked Performance is meant to be better on the old k chips than on the equivalent new chips due to better thermal headroom.
