Hello every one
I don't really know much about AMD processors or motherboards at all and a friend wants to build a budget gaming PC and gave me this spec to look over if it was Intel i would know what to look for but i don't have a clue with AMD i need to do some reading up! how dose this build look for around £350?

also a question i have is would value ram be the same as XMS3?

he already has hard drive monitor keyboard mouse Ect.

Here is the build so far:

Thanks for any help!

All seems fine for the money as far as I can tell.

Only thing I'd change is that case. I understand that this isn't a 2 or 3k watercooled build so the innards just need to be functional. However I just couldn't stand having that Zalman case sitting on my desk, its just fugly.

For maybe another tenner or so you could get the Corsair 200R or 230T.

Far better choice in my opinion (build quality, value for money etc...)

Just my tuppence worth. :)

They are rumors of kaveri being released late dec/early january. Might be able to get one of those if he can wait. Performance in cpu should be about 30% overall and GPU will be much better. 1080p 30FPS bf4 on medium settings. Also will use GCN and may be able to crossfire with a 7770 but gaurenteed a 7750.

£10 extra so much more....

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£56.10 @ Scan.co.uk) (This is a A10 APU with the GPU disabled it will run cooler because it dosent have a lowend GPU slaped on the die the APU'S will run around 100C because of haveing the gpu on the chip the Athlon II X4 runs at 1/2 the temp with the gpu removed/disabled and you cant crossfire a A8 with a HD7770 makeing the A8 pointless)

Motherboard: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard (£44.10 @ Scan.co.uk)

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£62.99 @ Novatech) (wtf ram prices are ridiculous lately after hijinx fire!)

Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7790 1GB Video Card (£92.30 @ Aria PC)

Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case (£32.32 @ Aria PC)

thank you ill have a mess around with that!

No need for an APU with a dedicated GPU. Might as well get an Athlon II 750k/ 760k or go AM3+ and get the 6 core FX-6300 however that will push you over your budget.

you might do well waiting for the kaveri release in january. it's gpu is similar to a 7750 or 7770 i believe and could be better with overclocking.

also then there might be good crossfire with current gen gpus for a later upgrade.

just a though

The price range suggests that will be slightly out of his budget :(

I heard it was supposed to be about $10 more than a 6800k at the highest level? It has not come out yet and he could save more money and drop the cash needed for a dedicated card and use that towards this budget.
