For those who haven't heard, yesterday a tragedy of great proportions occurred. A 24 year old Chinese man killed 32 students on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and then turned the gun on himself after the rampage.

News stories and such can be found on the front page of www.foxnews.com if you're interested.

All of the students, families, and friends are in my prayers during this time of great sorrow. Please take a minute of your time and give a moment of silence for those who were lost in this senseless act of brutality.

God bless.

Edit: This thread is to show respect for the victims of this tragic event, not to show how thick-skulled and moronic you are and that guns are the problem in the US. In other words; post garbage in my thread and I'll pwn u so fast it'll make ur head spin, capisce?

bahhh you see what happens when you make guns legal ....

well im sorry for what happend but the U.S goverment can just ban arms ...

Peeves has already said what needs to be said, my bit is that I struggle to read the newspaper when things like this happen, there is just no need.:(

deleted your thread vader, as this one has replies.

this reminds me of dunblane in scotland quite a few years back now, and that wasnt nearly as many people dying.

That's a terrible massacre. Very sad indeed :(

Wonder what sets these people off :eh:

In this case, from the reports we have so far, it started out as a fight between the shooter and his girlfriend.

Some people take their woman situation way over the top, I mean straight off the handle. Who really knows the true motive.... Maybe over time we will be able to better understand peoples mentality in events like this.

I hate that when something like this happens people jump straight on the blame train. Blaming the gun laws, blaming violent media and all that. If someone is mental enough to kill 32 people in cold blood, I don't think not being able to get his hands on a gun is going to put him off.

I'm not sure on the girlfriend thing :confused: they said on the news that he chained and locked doors and fire escapes. Sounds pretty calculated to me. Or maybe thats where he went for that two hours.... to the hardware store.

Either way it's a sickening, senseless and worrying act of violence. All I can say is i'm sorry that he shot himself.

Yeah, I heard that's just how it started. And that he then tried to find her in class but couldn't, so maybe he just went mental. WHO KNOWS????? FREAKIN' NUT!!!

There was a report that he actually had some of the students line up and one by one walked down the line, spun them around, and shot them in the back, straight execution style. So horrifying. What kind of human being does this to innocent people, kids at that?

Ugh, disgusting.

Just wait gamers!

Here come the people blaming it on violent media.

But from what Frag just said.. I nearly spat up my coffee! That is truely WRONG! :mad:

i heard on the news this morning that it was his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend that was killed, so that may of set things off. But regardles of the state of the gun laws, you still need some loser to pull the trigger.

I`ll be catching up with the news tonite with a guy who gets fed the police reports. Only listened to one section of the show, but reading between the lines (which in itself is pretty silly I guess) it sounded like he killed his girlfriend then went off and killed the lecturer - u`r mind jumps to a few conclusions when u hear that.

Damn tragedy, I`m hoping they don`t read too much into the fact he`s a Chinese guy on a learning visa thingy - I don`t believe this to be relevant to the reasons why.

Ugh too freakin young for this, and the survivors are too young to be worrying about this sorta thing.

Agreed, guns don`t kill people. People kill people.

I just got this through my email... I believe that this is another very realistic viewpoint of the entire situation that should not be overlooked. I would hope that it hasn't been and that the government is looking very closely in to this and just not saying anything so that the nation doesn't get too frightened. Here it is:

First Email:

My Take On The Shootings Yesterday

I believe it was a planned jihad attack by a terrorist foreign student. That guy was not berserk. He planned this very well. I also think the first shooting was a decoy to draw attention to, so he could carry out his scheme in another building.

I believe the 'girl friend' idea was nonsense.

Al Qaeda is jumping with joy over it's success.

Al Qaeda's success means their plan to scare students nation wide might work. You can look for more like this. I believe this guy was supplied guns and ammo by a terror cell here.

The shooter shot himself by design when he was running out of ammunition, to become a martyr, and a hero among jihadists.

I believe our investigators are going down the wrong road. They need to get themselves into terror attack mode so as to be ready for the next one.

All foreign students must be screened, and suspects sent home.

Enough for now, I'll be back!

Second Email from a slightly different viewpoint:

I think that I have a different slant on this since I've done so much work on government mind conrol pograms, MKULTRA, and other operations that use Manchurian Kandidates. When I wrote "The Medusa File" I went into these programs in some detail, and point out that the ultimate (ultra) objective is to create programmed assassins and super soldiers who knew no fear. This was to be done by drugs, chemicals, brain washing etc.

I'd like to point out:

1. the "student" was Chinese or North Korean, from the Chinese mainland (Shanghai), and China does have connections to Islamic terrorist movements;

2. He had a gun, and as a foreign national, he could not buy one, so it he had to get it on the black market, or from a private individual or organization;

3. He used in in a "professional manner" meaning he had military training (?);

4. He procurred and wore a ballist vest to extend his mission capability, which meant a great deal of preplanning and preparation as one does not simply go to Walmart and get a vest;

5. The event occurred on the east coast, which gets more media attention than elsewhere in the country;

6. Anti-gun lobbies and congresspukes (Schumer, Feinstein, Boxer, Kennedy, Lautenberg etc., and Sarah Brady's Bunch) will now jump up and demand that handguns be banned, period.

7. Notice that NO school shootings took place when we had a Republican congresss and White House. Now that we have a Demonrat congress, we have the first of what I expect to be more school shootings.

8. The media will play this up for days and generate anti-gun fever nationwide and bring all the kooks back out of the crevices;

9. They will not address the biggest point: No one on campus was armed. No teachers, no security evident, and they probably had a "no guns allowed" rule. You cannot have security by posting signs or making rules. Bad guys can always get guns, just like people could always get whiskey and beer during Prohibition. Security only happens when people can defend themselves. The Wild West was tammed when Citizens carried guns. I live in Oklahoma, which at one time was Indian Territory and a haven for outlaws until citizens began defending themselves. That is what cleaned up Oklahoma.

10. The suspect to me appears to have been programmed to kill all he could then kill himself to keep anyone from exploring his past and his motives. He went in sterile, with no ID to make discovery harder. He appears to almost have been in a trance state, showing no emotions, and saying nothing. I wonder who will eventually take credit for this, or already has and we haven't heard.

What do you think?

Been watching this on the news whenever it was on, it sickens me to think that people almost my age had to experience this. Had me worried when I knew that you lived in Virginia and may have been affected but i'm glad ur ok. I feel sympathy for all those that were affected.

I dont feel it was a conspiracy or terrorist planned attack as unfortunately people can breakdown and turn nasty like this - although i have no personal experience of this *thank god* and hope i and everyone i know never will. In fact I hope this event does truely enlighten the world to what needs to be done, whatever that something is.
