2nd 6990 same problem

that is a beast cooling system you have there.

and yea is saw that video lol. i am thinking about doing that to my fried 5870 that i just have sitting here.

oh and another off topic post that was cool. i got 4gb 1600 corsair XMS 9-9-9-24 RAM for FREE at frys electronics. $54 for the RAM with a $54 mail rebate.

well once i get my water cooling kit (which i am still deciding whether or not i will get all at once) i will be posting on the water cooling section on how to set up gpu water cooling on my 6990. i can put it together but i have 0 idea how to get the water flowing through the whole system, nor do i know how to test for leaks before apply the system. This does not sound to hard but considering water and computers do not mix, if i screw up $2200 goes down the drain.

its easy bro a lil time consuming but easy fill res with coolant the trun on pump to move it out shut down pump add more coolant and rinse and repeat. til you have water thru most of it then its a lil wiggle and twist session to untrap air bubbles from all the nooks and crannies. all this is done by hot jumping the pump but not turning on the rig. then let it run for (now this part is debatable) several to 24 hours for leak testing. Remember to put kitchen towels down under the gpu to easily see if there is a leak. once ur sure no leaks then re-attach the 24 pin to the mobo and let her rip and watch in amazement ur new gpu temps.

So i do this WITH the RAD attached? If so that means i have remove the RAD again in order to attach it to my rig because i have holes on my case for tubes.

thats where having it all internal helps. yes you need the whole loop as its going to be ran. in ur case you'll have to wiggle and twist the case and rad get a mate to help ya lol might be a 4 handed job unless you manage away to mount the rad externally somehow.

what case do you have by the way??

I may be able to fit it, but it will be a REALLY tight fit (no pun). because my Nactua is so big and the only internal RAD spot is right above it.

yeah you have the 600t right I was just looking at it on newegg with the NH D-14 it wont fit up there and it doesnt look like a single 120 would fit on the rear because of the D-14 as well so my thinking a single there and at the bottom for two 120's wont work either

Now that i look at my case there might be enough room. remember when the RAD is placed on the inside top of the case the fans are meant to be outside of the case. so i just need to take the RAD into account.

ahhh I see under the top mesh ya definatly look into that but then again you may have tubing routing issues due to the Nocky as well

The RAD will fit. there will be 2 to 3mm between the Noctua and the RAD. so the dual 120mm fans will blow into the case from the top.

if i have the tube ports closest to the front i will have no problems.

I hope not but routing from that bay res/pump to the rad might be tight but I know you'll be able to get it in. I expect to see a build log as it goes if you do it. I just wish I had the cash to wc my setup.

yea i will make a build log, you can count on that.

In the mean time does anyone know any good underclocks for the 6990/6970/6950, i cant imagine just underclocking really low is very good for stability? I use windows media center and like to watch tv while i doze off, but the 6990 emits SOOO much heat that i need a stable underclock.

unless someone can tell me how to disable GPU in media canter.

or is there any way to lock 2d clocks?
