The Titan X needs custom cooling badly. Sadly Nvidia see it as their private jack off toy and won't allow any AIBPs to custom cool it.
EVGA's new Hydro AIO thing would work well but then you're in well over a thousand pounds.
Not worth it.

The blower style fan in my honest opinion is much better than the Strix style cooler mainly due to the fact that ALL the heat is exhausted out the back of your case instead of dumped inside, Plus the highest temp I've seen on my reference 980 has been 76'C which for a GPU isn't exactly high and that's with an overclock of 1500 on the core and 2000 on the memory.
Guessing the cooler on it is better than most reference ones, but not the best on the block so to speak?...
