depends on how sensitive your ears are........

to me, i can live with it, just like i can live with a WD Raptor HDD thats in a always on comp in my bedroom.......

but if you want to know how loud it is, with some sort of comparison.....then its the sort of sound thats like......ermmm........take a 80mm fan, the kind where you find in cheap PC, really loud ones, and place that 2 foot from your ear.....

and yes, its HOT, not warm......

if you are going to get one, then either WC it, or try and fit some kind of aftermarket cooler for it

good luck

ok thanks. Well i might get one of these or an 8800GTS, just thinking about which one and waiting for some DX10 Benchies..

I thought this card was about the same (compared to my 850xt and that was frigging loud when i started playing games)... however, after installing a Western digital raptor drive, I'd say it is fairly 'quiet' card

>_> the hdd is VERY annoying! grrrrrrrrr

btw I'm not having any VPU recovery problems now... I just installed Vista and none so far

fingers crossed!

I never once found my Raptors annoying.... BUT... I think that was because they were in my watercooled rig that was laced with 6+ Panaflo M1A's which drowned everything else out, hehe.

mine was the older raptor.. in a crappy case tho lol.. haha.. if i had it in my aurora im sure it would be fine..

I can barely hear my raptor.

But thats prob due too the P180s mounts...

Yeah I never heard any of the drives that were in my PC-A10A, they had super nice quick disconnect rubber grommeted mounts, my god I loved that case to death!
