2500k - z77 extreme4

hey ppl,

I recently got a 2500k and an Asrock z77 Extreme 4.

being a noob I'm not really confident changing all those overclocking parameters in Bios cause I don't know what is what.

this is what I've achieved so far

4.1Ghz - 1.176V stable.

My goal is to achive stability for 4.5Ghz with Vcore lower than 1.245V (1.245V would be great too)

here's my bios set all to default

any recommendations appreciated.

right on, push the vcore up and bring the multi up to desired and

try it.. jump into the OC pool.. the fun really begins.

Put volts to 1.300 multiplier to 45, see if it boots and is stable.. If yes, keep taking 0.010 volts off each restart, all the way down to the lowest voltage ur chip will do 4.5Ghz at, which is 1.255 for me but it might be higher or lower for u

EDIT: also, try putting the bus speed(i think thats what its called) to 102.0 / 103.0 or something if ur going for low voltage because the bus doesnt require as much volts as the multiplier from what i've heard

im not a pro by any means though so u might wanna wait till somebody confirms that

Change the cpu llc to level 3,bump up the volts a little bit then the multiplier and see if it's stable !!

I'm not a pro either but try it ...it may work !!

this is true, with a couple of caveats. the BCLK multi changes so many other parameters in other support

subsystems. memory functions, all USB/SATA/PCI-E/PCI bus reged from the system board controller. a mega

dose of multi change amplifies other changes, dramatically. usually SB can stand 5MHz up or down to keep

tolerances livable. 108/110 is close to insane and controller damage can start 110+. saw a couple of tuners

waste three board controllers with a 120 multi, before realizing the SB clocks with vore and system multi.

generally, with large swing overslock, it'd be a stable jump to lower the bclk and make it up on system and

vore.

Something you can try - I noticed with the z68 extreme mobos that all you needed to do was change the multiplier and the bios changed the voltage.

Sounds weird, but that's all I've done. Guess that's the difference between Auto and Normal. Similarly with the ram settings, Auto should give the component what it wants.
