Wonder if tinytom frequents this thread but I'll ask anyway. Do the winners get the original boxes for the components as well? For resale down the line when user decide to change some components.

IIRC, the last compos required users to keep a hold of the prizes for X amount of time to publicise OC3D. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

from what i understood no, because of just that, he doesn't want these rigs to be taken apart and sold

he will probably send all the content of the original boxes in a separate box(user manuals,adaptors,stickers,etc)
