LOL. This is going to be serious war. The more ppl troll here the longer you will wait.

Seriously, lads! What's point to make any assumption. Tom has all the right in the world to make contrary decision to all your thoughts. Just wait until something gonna happen.

Even the forum website can't stand this waiting any longer. Starts expressing its frustration giving 404 Not Found errors all over the place

Yeah, there's no point in refreshing the page so often... when you know, you'll know! You might not even find out today...

So as not only forum members can enter how would their name be announced if they did happen to win?, would the email be shown with the name? imagine if a 'David Smith' won or something like that?

They would be notified accordingly and would find out that they had won

Good luck to everyone who entered. I've never really had an account on this forum, more of a youtuber

but all the same. I'm pumped! I've gotta build a new rig this year, and if I won, I know it'd save me a lot of money that could be better spent on education

Since bulldozer was so disappointing, I'm going to be building an Ivy Bridge. I'll try to get more active in the forums anyway. I owe TTL that, considering I've been watching his youtube videos for a well over a year or so now.

just a concern for any us winner. im not 100% sure about this so if im wrong great. I remember hearing something a while ago that even for competition's like these . You have to pay federal prize taxes. which is a % of the total value of the prize. so lets ay for the first place rig, id roughly value it in parts around 3000-3500 usd. 10% of that is 300 -350 + shipping. I remember for the monster modz competition for MMPCTECH the owner threw the computer on ebay because the taxes were so high it didnt feel like winning anything. Maybe if you sent this to the winner marked as a "GIFT" instead of a prize saying it is a us winner for any of them.

I dunno - $300 vs $3000, it'd still be a bargain imo........granted it might feel steep considering your winning a prize but at the end of the day your getting a personalised TTL rig which is just about priceless right?

well some people like myself would be forced to withdraw winnings on such a thing. 300 taxes+ 150 ish shipping (its gonna be alot with customs fees) your looking at a bit of money. Honestly im just trying to find out the stipulations of this, and make others aware of this.

apparently the taxes are 25% of the value of the prize won. in otherwords 3000 /25% = 750 usd plus shipping. keep that in mind... maybe tom sends this as gifts when he mails them out?

Oh yeah - don't get me wrong, if the 'gifting' idea is dooable from TTL's end I'm all for it. And yeah, I know there will be a lot of people that can't fork out the cash to get the beast shipped.

It'd just be a bit sucky if due to too many people complaining about postage and taxes the competitions become closed off to those outside the UK or something.

he has always said that you have to pay shiping, so if you can't u should NOT have entered, its actually very simple because ur gonna end up wasting tom's time. think about it, if u win and u can't get it, and he picks another and contacts them and they can't and then he picks another.... etc... thats why he said from the start ur gonna win the rig, but ur gonna have to make arrangements with him to get said rig. It wouldn't be fair to close this comp to the uk since a lot of the forum members are word wide, from everywhere.

if its just postage... thats one thing... everyone aggreed to that.... but the taxing sux

if you read my post and instead of SKIM threw it.. my concern isnt shipping but the luxery tax

I talked to a winner of last years competition and he told me he had to pay around $250 US for shipping to the US, never said anything about having to pay taxes or such on it. So that might help some, and I also live in the US and that is what I am going by, is that we will just have to pay the shipping.
