I’m sorting out a new PC for someone and we have decided to buy it bit by bit over the next couple of months, So first of is the screen, I’ve found this 20" widescreen from LG, Good response time & high Contrast ratio, any one got a LG monitor?? I’m just wondering before we buy it to make sure I’ve got the best 20" in that price range. Or has anyone got any other recommendations? Thanks :)

That is a good price, although it is only VGA not DVI if ur botherd about that. I have an LG 17" TFT and have been very happy with it.

Ahh yeh didn’t notice it was VGA, I’ve been told you can really see the difference between the Analogue VGA and Digital DVI.

Hmmmm i dont know what to do! :/ weather to get a 19" with DVI or a 20" With VGA. :/ max i wanna spend is £140

i have always noticed a better sharper image from dvi to analogue.

i have seen quite a few monitors now with the leads been switched and the results are always positive with lcd.

text is so much sharper and vivid with dvi and colour is better balanced.

i make sure that whenever i recommend a monitor it has dvi.

Ahhhhh one persons saying there’s no difference and your saying there really is a noticeable one lol what to do!!!

i've had DVI and VGA

tbh, the difference is small, but it is there, DVI is a tad sharper, a tad clearer, but for the extra money, i'd just get vga, money > a slight improvement in quality

when DVI is the standard, then i will gladly move, and use the improved quality moniters, but until then, i dont see a need to..

Iv got 2 LG's a 19" exactly same as your intended 1 though its got dvi..price is about the same and only losing an inch....id buy 1 again no second thoughts..also got a 22" LG built in TV tuner...they really are great monitors.

Ditto that :D

nice post :D

Depends on the monitor imo. On this Dell here I use the 2 inputs to switch between pcs, and there is an obvious difference, u can tell just by looking at an explorer window.

DVI-D means that you save a little bit of time and quality because you don't have to convert the digital signal to an analog one (which then gets converted back to digital.) DVI becomes more important at higher resolutions IIRC.

I didn't really notice much difference on my LG 19" flatron, the biggest difference being that I could see the interlacing on my dvd's much clearer.

When the time comes to buy another monitor, I'll definitely be looking at LG again
