2 x 120GB SSD VS 1 x 240 SSD

Hey guys, I'm getting an Intel 520 240GB SSD. Should I get 1 x 240GB or 2 x 120GB in RAID 0. If I go with the single driver option the speed is 550 MB/s, if I go with RAID 0 the speed is 1023 MB/s.
I read an article about this and they said the speed doubles but there is something with SSD's called degradation or something and it increases with RAID or whatever, idk, so what do you guys think I should do?

If you raid drives, you lose TRIM, meaning the drives can use up their write cycles quicker - not sure how much of a difference it actually makes, but it's still best to keep it.
Go for the 240gb version...
But...
Why are you going for Intel? The three most reliable drives around are the Crucial M4, Samsung 830 and the Intel 520s... but the Intel's are far more expensive than the other 2 and aren't really better. You'd be better off saving your money and getting a Samsung or Crucial

Well they're wrong.

Crucial has 0.7% return rates, Samsung's is around 1.3% I believe, whilst Intel's is 1.7%...
Either way which ever you get it should be reliable - but you may as well just save the $30

Most companies would kill for figures close to any of those.

I bought Intel 520 240GB, because it is INTEL :)
+ the write speed of Intel is faster than Samsung and crucial and it looks awesome.

Those listed read and write speeds aren't the actual read and write speeds that Windows uses...
At 4KB rates (what Windows actually uses) both the Samsung and Crucial are faster...

Anyway - I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase regardless
