Hey guys,

I'm after some rather quality speakers, that are 2.0.

That are black and sleek looking. Which also has some base in them.

Anyone that has any suggestions or recommendations?...

Price, I'm looking at max $100-120.

Regards,
Chrazey

So stereo then?

inputs? outputs? digital? analogue? 3.5mm jack? phono? XLR?

Umm yes, stereo (facepalm)

Digital, how does that work?... I was thinking 3.5mm jack.

Not sure what any of the other stuff mean or is :p

inputs?

The Cable you want to Plug in

outputs?

Do you want to Plug something in, Mic e.g. ?

digital?

e.g. USB or Toslink

analogue?

e.g. 3.5mm Jack

3.5mm jack?

Standard Audio Jack, like the on on every Phone

phono?

alos known as cinch (red and white)

XLR?

a pretty big pro audio Jack, found on Studio Monitors (which are most of the Time much better then lots of the normal Products from standard consumer Brands at the same price)

2.0 i would recommend:

M-Audio BX5 D2
Bose Companion 2
Creative Gigaworks T20

Decent 2.1 speakers

Hey guys,

So this is my last attempt at finding a decent/good 2.1 speaker system.

Now I'd like your help as I'd like the base to be as small as possible, to be able to as neatly as possible hang it under my desk. For clean cable management.

I'm looking for an analogue system, 3.5 mm jack, that can either be connected into the back of the motherboard or into a potential sound card in the future.

The smaller the speakers themselves, the better. But still being able to provide some "oumff" to them.

Having a dedicated smart little controller on the desk wouldn't hurt either. Black is preferrable.

No outputs on it, just gonna use it as a plain speaker system. Nothing else.

Budget would be top £150.

Thanks,
Chrazey

Honestly, separate amp + bookshelves would be the best in that price range, unless you find the Klipsch 2.1 system which is ok.

Something like an SMSL SA50 + Wharfdale 9.1 would be within budget and will sound far better than anything you've ever had on your desk, in terms of music. Obviously it requires more space but yeah. Monitor audio MR1 is also an option but I think they are a little brighter than the wharefdales.

If you would ever consider stretching your budget to around £300, an SA50 + Elac B6's would be all you'll ever need until the day you die.

*drools* Elac's are on my list of things I need to buy before I die/have kids ... do want.

Do it :D

The b5's are probably a little better on a desk but the b6's extend lower. They're like the cheapest amazing speakers out there :)

Also if you're not on a super tight budget a proper separate amp will allow them to shine a little better, but it's not a night/day difference.

I totally agree with you, when I make my new desk setup/redo my room + pc build, I will be going this route (bookshelf+amp)

Oh I intend to give them all the love I can :) They'll be getting an AMP to match :)
