1920x1200 24-27 inch gaming monitor?

Looking for a new monitor with a good response time, sexy colours, deep blacks and little to no ghosting or backlight bleed. I'm not too fussy on the bezel, but that DGM one that's doing the rounds is a bit piss ugly.

It absolutely has to be 1920x1200 and not 1920x1080.

Any recommendations? Something under or around £200 would be good. 24 to 27 inch.

Thanks in advance.

The only one that comes to mind is Dell UltraSharp IPS U2412M - £204 at Aria, I'm using one as my main monitor for everything and haven't encountered any issues with it. Here's the tftcentral review if you're interested.

I wouldn't go above 24inch for 1920x1080 personally.

If you're wanting 27inch, then you should definitely be looking at 2560x1440.

This is about the best you'll get for 24inch @ 1920x1080:

Personally, I'd recommend dropping to 23inch and saving quite a lot of money on something like this:

I understand opinion on the subject, however my needs are 24-27 inch at 1920x1200. Thank you for your input though.

Sorry - didn't read that part.

The 24inch Dell I linked however is 1920x1200* (same as Snortan recommended).

Can I ask the reason for 1200 rather than 1080?

It may only be 1920x1080 but the Asus MX279H 27" is one hell of a monitor and looks amazing to boot, Pic of mine -

Thanks, seen that monitor linked a few times but have read a some stories on the matte coating being rather grainy. Unsure with pulling the trigger on that.

I'd rather not get into a debate about what monitor resolutions and sizes are optimal. It's all subjective and derails from the purpose of my thread query. Seems to happen in almost every thread where somebody asks for monitor recommendations.

Sorry - wasn't looking to derail the thread, just interested as to why you'd adamant in not having x1080.

The Dell screen we've linked is one of the best monitors around really for the size and price, and to not buy it because of something as trivial as the 'matte coating looking a bit grainy' seems rather foolish to me.

It does look a little grainy, but you get used to it and don't notice it without looking really closely after a while. Still a great monitor especially for the price.

I would like to recommend the Dell UltraSharp U2412M as well, response time could be better, but other than that it is very good and has been reliable. For the price you get quite a lot.
When I got it in my country it included a 3 year warranty and one of my friends who was working at a store actually recommended it due to small RMA's.
Check out the review if you fancy it:

Using one ATM as my secondary display for graphic design, movies, casual gaming.
