1440p viewing distance?

Thinking of getting a 1440p monitor; Asus PB278Q in fact.

Wondering about the viewing distances. I have a fairly small room and have a desk that's 60cm deep/depth, this to be exact. And that's got to occupy a K95 and a PureTrak Talent(i may have to downgrade :()
Based on dimension from Asus' website and how i normally sit, i will have about 1.5' (feet) from face to panel/screen.

So im wondering, what are your viewing distances for your 1440p monitors? :)

What do you have now?

Edit: I read your sig.

You should be sat 50-53cm from your monitor now, 60cm when you get the new one. This will make the display size look the same as your 23" but will have an apparent DPI which is 30% higher and around 70% more detail.

Basically, if you are comfortable with you viewing distance now (how far you are sat from 1080p 23") then just do this simple calculation.

cm away from your 1080p 23" monitor / 23 * 27

so if you are sat 50cm away from your current monitor you'd do:
50/23 which gives you 2.173 and then multiply this by 27, giving you 58.69. Using this calculation, you'll be viewing this monitor like your 23" one but with much more detail.

Going any further away than what you get from the calculation will result in your 27" monitor looking smaller than your 23" monitor with much greater detail and will require some getting use to ^_^

It all depends on your distance now.

Thanks for the reply guys.
This desk i have now is literally the largest i can have for my room, it took me quite a while to find the dimensions right dimensions thats right for this room.
My room is literally around 2.5x2 meters

But yeah, 2 feet or 60cm seems reasonable. I just had to ask cause from this link says max distance one should be is around 3feet and i thought that'd be the 'optimal'

Thanks guys
