1200p or 1080p for games and daily use?

your wrong its 60htz per eye with the 3d in effect a 120htz monitor but in reality even in 2d its 60htz.

Indeed. I was using a very similar model (also passive 'cinema' 3d) and saw FPS far higher than 30 when running 3D.

IIRC a passive screen splits the picture into two then leaves your eyes to put it back together.

I cant do without 1200 pixels, 16:9 feels to much like tunnelvision for me. Ive been having 1200 pixels ever since i had a crt that was capable of 1600x1200 and i am sticking with it, black bars here and there dont disturb me and streaming works just fine in 1080p in windowed gaming, so yeah.

I have the Asus Pro Art 246Q IPS monitor and it is a fantastic 16:10 monitor.

Guess Im a noob. Ive never cared really as I just went off total screen size. My last monitor was a 22" 16:10 but my current 25" HP is 16:9. I have no problems with it and never felt like I was having tunnel vision. Plus I don't have any games with black bars since not all games fully support 1920x1200.

I agree that 16:10 is a better aspect ratio if youre comparing the same screen size but since you can get bigger 16:9 screens for less, Im fine going with them. Don't see a need to get a 16:10 24" when I can get a 27" 16:9 for the same money.

I switched from 1080p(16:9) to 1200p(16:10) just a month ago and I can't say that it's a huge improvement. I mean sure it's a bit more space when working but besides that I can't notice any differences since games stretch to 16:10 and videos have almost the same black bars as in 16:9. There might be some older games that still have black bars at 16:10 but I didn't encounter one yet.

I saw the new LG monitor series a couple of days ago and i must say that like the new tvs they have i really like the new practically borderless screen design. link for reference http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-IPS237L-BN-led-monitor

I saw that too, but that sadly isn't true. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS96RjxxU7A

I think I will go middle road with 1080p 23'' screen and Dell quality.
DELL U2312HM it's a lot cheaper than U2412M and for that money I could buy a sound card.

They are not borderless.

How they are advertised:

What they really look like:

I prefer 1080p for gaming over 1200p, The picture isn't ballsed up.

120 pixels is bugger all anyway, it's like 4 rows on a spreadsheet.
