sup guys, first post on the forums, this is something that has been bugging me since quite a while now, in hardware monitor under the motherboard temps i can see the cpu temps, but there are also the core temps under the 1090t area. which one should i been looking at when stressing the cpu?

some people tell me the cpu temps, and some people tell me to watch for the core temps, currently i got my cpu at 4.2ghz and neither the cpu temp nor the core temp goes above 62c, but still i want to find out which one is the important temp with amd cpus

any help will be highly appreciated

4.2 is an average OC for a 1090T, and 62C is fair under-stress

it is the CPU temp that is the most important

if one core temp is drastically higher than other cores, then RMA the chip

The issue for me was the accuracy of monitoring programs. Be forewarned, Core-temp is highly inaccurate (almost ten degrees C)on my PC. My Thermal radar will have my CPU at 66 degrees C when my core temp says that the CPU is at roughly 56-57.

Maybe you will have better luck with Hardware monitor. Just AMD's temp monitoring have always been a bit off. Maybe my thermal radar is the one that is off?

i've seen some sites were they say amd recommends core temp for monitoring their temps

62*c cap applies to core temp. I've taken my 1090 up to 67*c with no problem but just opened the window and it's -10*c tonight, plummeted from 63*c full load (4.125Ghz, 3Ghz NB, 1.5v & 1.28v respectively) to 48*c full load (all cores folding and two GPUs folding too). Also taken this chip to 4.4Ghz before and while not stable still works fine.

Anyone saying 62*c CPU temp is the max is usually just a git repeating what everyone else says. Somewhere in the 70s or 80s is where the cutoff lays, don't know specifically what it is but it's nowhere near 62*c

PM me for any OCing help

so if my cores do not go above 53c i have good temps? The CPU temp sometimes goes to like 65c, while The CORE temp is at 50c-55c, are those good temps?
