HELIOS (Caselabs SMH10 | black/copper | EVGA SR-2 | Geforce Titan) - by alpenwasser

So, quick update on my health status for those interested: Operation yesterday went well from
how things are looking now. I will however have to stay in the hospital for at least another week.

Basically I had a bone infection and they cut out the surrounding damaged tissue as well as the
infected bone. Now they have me on some very serious intravenous antibiotics for the next 6 days
at minimum. After that I'll be on an antibiotics regimen for at least another six weeks.

For the time being I'm feeling pretty well, hopefully things stay like that.

Luckily, they have Wi-Fi.

All the very best for a rapid recovery Alpenwasser :D

Take it easy and put yourself first for once, no overdoing it ;)

Ps. I'm missing your input and humour on my build log fella (It will shortly be finished however  )

I just read the thread and how are you finding the 480 from alphacool since ekwb have no 480 coolstream xt's available at the moment so looking for a replacement

I'm Back, Bitches!

Aaand I'm back! :D

Hope you have a speedy recovery Alpenwasser :)

Thanks! So far things are looking good, but I'm still somewhat restricted. But I'm on
track for starting college next week as far as I can tell.

If you're looking for performance numbers, I recommend having a look at Martin's
Liquid Lab's review here. It's pretty much the best W/C gear review site I know of.

I haven't really put it through its paces yet, but build quality is pretty good. Other
than that there isn't too much I can say about it, it's a radiator. ;)
One thing I don't like too much is that they use M3 threads, which can be ripped out
rather easily. I'd much prefer M4 threads (such as on the Hardware Labs radiators),
which are more solid (UNC 6-32 would also be stronger than M3, but I'm a metric
kinda guy ;) ). But I doubt it's the only radiator with that flaw.

Bottom line: I can recommend it. Build quality is not as phenomenal as HW Labs,
but decent enough, and performance for low speed fans (as per Martin's review)
is excellent. I also have a UT60, which I've actually been using for quite a while now,
and it has held up very well.

Build Status

Since college starts next week and I'm currently somewhat busy prepping for that
(leaving aside that I'm not @ 100% yet) progress won't be quick for the foreseeable
future.
Next thing on my TODO list is still the tubing, for which I'm waiting on an order. Once
that's arrived (I hope some time next week), there should be an update towards
the end of next week if things go to plan.

So long, mateys!

He's alive! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

So glad to hear you're on the mend dude, just take it easy =P don't want you out of commission even longer.

Good luck with College, too.

Glad to hear your recovery is going well. It's good that you are feeling well enough for college, and good luck with it.

Take it easy still and don't push your self to hard.

Looking forward to more on this build in the future when your up to it and have the parts. :)

Luckily my college schedule won't be too stuffed in the beginning since I've already
done some of the courses (or rather: I can transfer some of the credits from my earlier
degree over to this one), so while I won't be able to "take it easy" (wouldn't want
to get cocky and fall behind) I will have a reduced workload compared to those
starting from scratch.

So things are looking good at the moment. Slow but steady... ;)

Bitfenix Spectre Pro Copper Edition

Prototype: Bitfenix Spectre Pro Copper Edition

This is just a prototype. The fan is very annoying to take apart and before I do this
with all the rest of them I need to make sure the process doesn't damage the bearing
or anything like that. So: testing.

But, in the meantime, I thought I'd present you with this:
