Small talk & Chit chat

I'd go the MSI Ace or the Aorus Master ;)

Its not that simple :)

The original deal I showed is a packaged bundle. I don't have the choice unless I paid for the items individually as you mentioned. And when I do that, the price goes straight up to 35,000+ for a decent board, where as this deal is 31499.

Get on a rubber dinghy come across the channel, it will probably work out cheaper

The bundle deal is there usually because an item or more is crap and they can't get rid of it any other way, so I know it's tempting but usually isn't worth it and end up costing you more later on down the track, if you can't get it all now as you want it then buy it a bit at a time and get what you want!

yeah. I had a feeling the mobo was not very good anyway. I think ill stick with my original 3090 plan and maintain my 7700k for now. Its a damn good board i have, its just showing its age now. I love the monoblock on it too.

I honestly think you've made the right choice and the fact they're offering a 3900XT whilst still good when the 4000 are not far away................yeah I think it's best you wait and if you have to buy your new bits one at a time as the money is there, then so be it, it's not like you can't play or do anything with the current system :)

Following on from the return of multiple ASUS monitors I can confirm I have now received a refund from them for a monitor purchased nearly three years ago.

Overall, excellent service from ASUS, however, they are really letting themselves down by using LetMeRepairUK...

Just want to rant a little bit, since I've got no where else to rage about this.
Past few years I've been sorting my finances out, saving up for a mortgage and a massive trip away to faraway lands, and all is going really well.

Been working on my credit scores from Experian, Equifax, and Transunion which I do not wish to brag about, but they are all on the top peg, excellent on all 3. So I thought: hell, now might be a good time to finally get a decent car! I checked around and found something I fell in love with and wished to buy.

But once I went to get the finance sorted, it all went south. To cut a long story short, I thought I was going to get a good rate given my credit scores and that I work full time, not a single black mark against my reports. But no; I enquired at both a bank and the car dealership to get the best rate and they both said "you're Average" which sent the APR they offered through the roof. Essentially they said "The score you see is always higher than the one we see" which to me just says "those credit scores you've been working hard to improve? They're all tosh!"

What a load of horse s...!

Banks only love you if you are up to your eyeballs in debt.

My ex wife could get anything she pleased (wife number 1). However, she was in strap to the tune of $45k by the time she was 27. Two new cars, drum kits, laptops etc.

Me? I couldn't get any credit at all.

Talking of money. Right now I have £18 to my name. It's ironic then, that by next Tuesday, it will be £1500.

How often do you get that amount?

I know that feeling.

I had to buy new wheels for my car after cracking 2 of them on a pot hole driving home from Scotland.

It left me with £30 for the month, and I forgot I had a few things due to go out and now I am left with a whopping £2.39 in my bank to last till the end of the month.

Thankfully I have a credit card I can use if I need to, but going to avoid using it as much as possible.

Not often.

Firstly I am owed £485 odd by the guy on Ebay. Then on Friday I get a £500 payment.

I get paid fortnightly and on some months I get paid 3 payments, but obviously only need two. So that's another £500 odd.

That's why I said I wish the consoles would come out now lol. I could buy bloody both ! come winter I will be skint as usual :D

The way PC stuff has gone recently? I am in no mood to wait for Ampere*. In fact, more water cooling block issues and waiting etc? just leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Like I didn't have that problem with every sodding Turing card I had.

I'm really not in the mood for any more. Finishing that NAS, though very rewarding was a chore (it just fought me every step). That Alienware, due to my ever so clever "more wiring than a car harness" is not fun to work in. If you screw up you have to pull out everything to get the floor out, and I really don't think I am in the correct state of mind to be doing that right now. I'm going to bung up the tubes for now and leave it.

I've wanted a better set of speakers for as long as I can remember, and maybe now is the time to do that. Mine are great, but I want something superb. I want a better amp too, so I might just do that.

*Sorry got distracted. I hear the numbers at launch are 10s of thousands. Worldwide.

Weird how quickly this stuff goes from political discussions to reality, 24 hours later and the UK is already announcing gradually reintroducing some lockdown restrictions this weekend as case rates soar despite testing shortages. In Manchester alone we've now in 24hrs got over 30 schools with positive cases and thousands of students isolating again, 5 of the 7 boroughs are suddenly now on red alert after steady drops in all but 1 for weeks, govt now confirming largest measured spikes are the university student demographic returning to study, but over the last day case rises have spread across regions and demographics

It's been bad up there. I had guests coming from Shaw and Oldham and they had to cancel because of all of the stuff with Oldham being possibly locked down again.

Spent many a 6 week holiday up there (Chadderton then).

So 4 years ago my dad had a coronary stent, Nothing really serious, He just had artery plaque from eating crap, But never smoked, Never done drugs and gave drinking up a long time ago, Good weight, Blood pressure etc...

Anyway since then he has been trying to no avail to get an appointment with a cardiologist as the surgeon that put the stent in said a once per year check up is advised, Everything looks great right now but just to be on the safe side a once per year exam is advised.

Anyway today he rang up the doctors to try yet again and the doctor on the call said maybe in the next 12-18 months there may be a free spot, Even if he goes private, Which he cannot afford, There still may be a 12 month wait to see a cardiologist.

I've said it many times, The private and national health care systems in the UK need a major overhaul and many of the doctors need to be reviewed, If I could right now I'd move my dad over to Germany where this type of appointment with a cardiologist wouldn't be looked at as winning the lottery.

It seems if you have a psychological issue you can get help quite quickly in comparison, Physical issue or want a simple checkup ? Better chance of finding Solomons mines.
