That is very fast! :O

AMD must have someting hiding in the bag, surely?!

I don't think any of the stuff they have announced for AM2 is going to do the trick against Conroe. 2.4Ghz isn't the fastest CPU either, there's going to be a 2.67Ghz part, that should be doing pi 1m in under 20 seconds at stock :O

Conroe looks special - I want to see 3d results before I pass my full judgement, but promising does not describe the euphoria of these early results.

I still maintain that the multi GPU performance, nividias in particular needs to be proven before I jump ship to Intel.

It's clear to me that the first batch of A64's on AM2 will not perform as well (2-5% improvement of current units) and we await 65nm in early 2007 before a true comparison can be made.

I gotta tell ya though, this is the first time since 2002 that we are seeing a genuine fightback from Intel, I like it :)

Indeed its been a long time coming thats all I can say. I used to love the old 2.4c Intel chips, they were awesome performers at 4ghz plus :)

The Intel Pricing structure we are seeing now is one that makes the chips less expensive than AMD, the motherboard prices however seem to be going northwards (£200 for a yonah desktop board???).

Having said that - like anything thats the best in its field - it allows prices to actaully go up once the first release is out there and proved itself (like the 7800GTX 512MB for example) - might be worth buying one now, even if you aint gonna use it ;)

But if Conroe and ATI Crossfire beat AMD/Nvidia SLI - I guess it's a mahoosivee investment for yours truly come the day (which is why I am hanging on till the AMD 65nm parts are reviewed.) :(

Bordy not a smuch as you may think.

Got my 2.4GHZ duo Conroe for £130 delivered off ex misis in Japan, then again she works for Intel

I remember the days of my old 2.4C ES, although it's still a worthy processor :)

When is the official release dates for each revision? I assume that there to be a ~3GHz model?
