Your opinion on my ibuypower build please

Byw can you give me your opinion on the video card as well as the ram if you dont mind. I have read reviews but you seam like you know a lot more about this them I do. So if you have time I would like to here what you have to say about that

From what I've heard Patriot RAM is very good. Most RAM modules will be near enough the same, with the only difference being the heat spreaders.

The graphics card will be good enough for most games.
 
Great. You made me feel a lot better. I'm not a extreme gamer and overclocking is somewhat new to me as I have done some in the past with my old system. what can I expect from the asus rampage iv? I have read that it is a high end overclocking board but a lot of the reviews go over my head. If you have a simpler explanation of the board could you share your wisdom once more.
 
Really don't understand the point of asking after you've already ordered everything. Just doesn't make the least amount of sense. If you repair/build PC's yourself and feel comfortable with it why did you not just do it yourself? Getting a warranty on the build is pointless really, if there is a warranty on the parts anyway. You just pay a lot extra for something you could have easily done yourself. 3820 is pretty much a pointless chip unless you plan to upgrade to a higher end 2011 one in the future, but then again, why waste money and not get a good one straight away? And if it's just gaming 2011 is of no use anyway. As for the case, there are a few much better options with hot swap bays. 32Gb is a massive overkill for games even with all the multitasking. I also would never have gone with an H60. Either air or at least a 240mm rad cooler...

Basically, you could have saved a lot of money and still have got yourself a better rig... Not that this one is really bad in some way, just that you've wasted a lot of cash.

Me either, what a complete and utter waste of time.

As above the spec is pretty bad amd you have wasted a lot of money on some shockingly bad parts.

This system is more than enough for me. As I said all I'm doing a a little video editing and let's say average gaming. What do you think is so shockingly wrong. Keep in mind that I'm not a advanced overclocker like some you guys.
 
Exactly, if you're not an overclocker, do only a little bit of video editing and only average gaming, why go with a 2011 processor at all? And why such an advanced motherboard? Ok, I could have understood if you were building a system and wanted the best parts or to match everything up, but this is obviously not the case here (Red board, blue ram, green GPU, I assume it will have blue leds as well which don't go together with the board at all). So you could have got a 3570k instead and a much cheaper board that for you in terms of features would not have made any difference whatsoever.

But the main issue is not the parts as such (well ok, in some ways), but rather the fact, that they aren't the top end (apart from the mb), but the price is.
 
I understand what your saying. In my defense I am planing to do some upgrading in 3 or 4 years and I know the mobo will still be good then. As for everything else I guess the noob is coming out of me, but all the reviews and specs are in my favor.
 
Buying for the future is never a good thing, dude. A £600 rig in the future shall outpower a £2000 rig today. Any CPU that can run on the motherboard in 3-4 years time shall be underpowered for the time.

I'm not really sure what reviews you are speaking of. Reviews where they compare these parts to what? What was the H60 compared to for example? A stock cooler? Yes, it is better than a stock cooler. But if you compare it to decent stuff, it is not really that good anymore.

And what will make a Rampage IV Extreme still good in the future? There are motherboards with the same socket or a 1155 one with the same/better features, apart from the overclocking part, which you are obviously not interested in.
 
the main point is parts like the rampage IV extreme are designed for extreme overcockers and performance enthusiasts, so if you only do a bit of gaming and a bit of video edditing theres no sense is spending 2000$ on a computer, build yourself an 1155 for like 1300$ and that will be more than enough performance. If you came here to have people tell you that you selected great components sorry to disapoint you, but at the end of the day for what you use a computer for you could have gotten the same performance for a lot less money.

I don't have any experience with the 2011 socket, so I can't help you unfortunately. Google is your best bet, and if you do get stuck you can always come back here and ask questions. A word of warning though, the H60 will probably not be able to hold the temps down even if you do manage a good OC.
 
I'm not realy worried about overclocking it even though I have a rampage mobo. As long as it keeps the processor cool when I'm playing my games I'll be good to go.
 
if you want a cool cpu pick up a nice air heatsink, the nh-d14 is 80$ and will cool way better than an h60.
if you arn't overclocking why would you spend 400$ on a motherboard?
 
as mentioned previously, building for the future is a bad idea because technology moves so fast within a year this motherboard will be completly outclassed, and given that you're not an experienced overclocker you are probably not going to benifit from a lot of the more advanced features of this motherboard.
 
True, but what's done now is done, I'm sure I'll be happy with my new build no matter what problems you guys say I might have. All I know is that it will be better than my old Xps 700
 
Your system is not bad. It's just bad for the money, and bad compared to the other options. Your rig's still going to be faster than the vast majority of people, but the people that know their stuff, the people on these types of forum, are going to know you've made some pretty bad choices.

If you didn't know what you were doing, it would have been best to check with us beforehand. Too late now, of course.

Alas, I hope you enjoy your system.
 
I did post on dr.i forms and ask some opinions of my build there and the most that was said abou it was that I never needed 32gb of ram, which is true, but I like the extra just in case. In retrospect I should have posted my build here first. Could have saved me some cash. what's done is done, I'm just left wondering if you could give me a idea of that the rating on the overall build would be. Like something out of 10. I know that it will be a monster around where I live ( a small island about 9x5 miles) but a overall score would be great if you could take a guess.
