Last night I had a hard drive die on me. Or, so it seemed. All I know is I had a bunch of data on it that I wanted. Sounded like it would try to spin up, but it made a clicking noise.

Following it, I was successful in opening my drive. I've always been told it is a big no-no to open a drive and that you will ruin it, etc.
I did just fine. The drive has been working since. Although I probably wont be using it anymore, I imagine I could.
