When you install it it tell's you to Upgrade or another option which I forgot but you keep all your programs and files nothing gets wiped! :)

Now just waiting for it to tell me that it's available to install/upgrade.

Is there a quick way to induce it to tell me the update is available? I already have the $Windows.~BT file on the C:
 
Upgraded and i have to say, that went really really smooth, i only needed to install the win8 drivers for my audio card and installed the nvidia drivers and everything else works like a charm.
 
I was looking through my Windows Update and i seen i had a Fail download

GDR-DU: Security Update for Windows 10 for x64 based System (KB3074683)

Installation status: Failed

Just wondering if anyone else had this happen to them Windows Update didn't end up installing it.
 
For those who have it preloaded and are waiting for the notification to upgrade. You can trigger the upgrade early. I just did this.

First make sure windows update allows automatic downloading and installing on your system. Then in command prompt just type wuauclt.exe/updatenow.

My issue is that I cant activate my copy...

I had that issue with both my machines, after upgrading and then doing a fresh install it would not activate.

Spent nearly 2 hours on the phone to Microsoft only for them to tell me that my keys which I bought, from them were not valid for use with Windows 10 after being told by them that they were valid for Windows 10.

Then I was told to roll back to Windows 8.1 on both machines, and try a upgrade again which I have just spent the last 3 hours doing on both machines.

I then got my M-ITX rig updated to Windows 10 via the upgrade process and it wouldn't activate, so I just kept hitting the activate button which didn't help I then typed "SLUI 4" in to the run box chose the UK option and then left it for about 10 minutes and cancelled it, clicked the Activate button a few more times and eventually it activated.

Going to do a backup of it, as it is currently with no drivers etc installed and then try a clean install again but I am not holding my breath.

So far Windows 10 for me has been nothing but hassle.

Obviously yes. I have the updates already installed. I've done literally everything on the net that has made it work. I even installed IE11 like Sub said and nothing happened even after running a batch file to get it start.

I'm on 8.1 Pro N, just got to the final stage, to which it says there is a problem with the language and recommends installing all the language packs :huh:

Don't do it.. lol
Told you it wouldn't work, granted mine was a different error but still. Really drives my anger that nothing I can do won't work and can't get w10.

Dude you only use "N" if you are in an EEA country like Norway, switzerland etc. :)

My question for you guys.

Win10 is now activated after upgrading. However I can't see my full product key. "IF" i did a fresh install from USB and format my disk, how do i enter my product key? or do I use my 8.1? They two keys are different of course.

Done at long last, failed first time around, second time I uninstalled NVIDIA drivers and removed all USB drives ;) it was the display drivers causing the issue.

Why not use the N version, I don't use media player or silverlight, if I do need them later I can just get them from MS website. Plus it was $10 cheaper for N rather than the standard 8.1 pro including Media player.
