You can download Windows 10 here

It obviously won't. If like me you don't have a key on your machine you need to find it manually.
I'm just getting "Can't activate - Try again later" the MS support site says servers are experiencing heavy loads so it could take some time.

Wow I hope it gets easier than the 15 steps but thanks for posting man! I don't plan on upgrading until late August / early September so who knows.

So if I get this right, I need to upgrade, find the key that comes from it, use the ISO and said key. So many needless steps!

Yep when I did a clean install with the Windows 10 Pro ISO that I created using the Media Creator Tool I tried, my Windows 8 Pro key and wouldn't accept it but it would accept the one that got from Magic Jelly Bean, that I decided to get after activating the upgrade to Windows 10.

I got the key from Magic Jelly Bean because by this point I had already tried several clean installs and upgrades that just would not activate, and I remembered that upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 gave me a new key for Windows 8.1, so tried it and sure enough Windows 10 Upgrade had given me a new key.

Put that key in and it accepted it but would not activate until I had logged in with my Microsoft Live Account and verified it on the PC, then I rebooted and Windows activated.

**Edit**

Just going to try something that I have seen posted on another forum and that is, once you have activated using a live account after a upgrade, you apparently don't need to enter the key on the clean install and just log in using your live account, will update once the fresh install is complete on my M-ITX rig.

I upgraded a few hours ago without any issue, I also reserved my copy aswell, I said I didnt one thing that did happen was when I downloaded and installed the Nvidia drivers (353.30) it crashed just kept popping up on the notifications... But installed (353.62) instead which sorted the problem.

For some reason on the Nvidia website to download the drivers it's only showing up (353.30) but then they have 29th of July released drivers on the geforce website where you can get drivers WTF... lol...Currently downloading W10 and will burn it on a disc making a ISO thank you 'Damien c' for the step by step! :)

Gotta say it's running very smooth got no complaints so far.

I usually only ever do clean installs of Windows, but I just went through the Windows Update automated route and I must say I'm impressed.

Flawlessly done, no issues to report.

No matter what I do mine wont update either through the update system or cleaning out the microsoft download files or by using the media creation tool so im now downloading the ISO and going to try installing from that
Edit: Well that worked it updated now so now running 10 and happy so far, if it wont work for you just download the ISO and upgrade from it

Just finished building my new PC and I have win 7 home on it will I be able to upgrade to win 10 even if i havnt reserved the key?

As much as I was loathe to I just switched to Edge. Firefox was annoying me enough to force me over.

And it's pretty good. Bit slower than Chrome but at least my sites load.

not working

when i want to create an usb device (64gb)
it downloads, check the download integrety. and starts to write to usb, then fails.
its done this like 3 times now. anyone have an idea how to fix ?

I updated fine from 8.1 to 10, less than an hour and was all done. My brother got home from work and started his. It took about 12hours, then reverted back to windows 7 after it failed to install. Tried again, and same thing. Annoying, but good job, because he's buying a new motherboard, CPU, ram and PSU next week, so we'll have to do a fresh install anyway

Just spoke with MS Hellas support...
Turns out that for my new build I have to install win7 first, then install all the updates, then reserve, then upgrade.... And I don't have the fastest internet connection out there :'(

The support guy had the same issue as me with his new laptop. He told me "Hang in there buddy, I had the same issue... I left my laptop home still updating" :'(

Is there a ram limit for the home version?

Here's what I did..
I downloaded the ISO when it became available, skipped the waiting game and jumped into W10.. wasn't genuine- because I didn't upgrade first- soooo I took my other ssd, installed windows 7 again, downloaded/installed the SP1, few other updates for windows, and the tool. Then I did this in CMD(as an admin, must be admin or get an error) slmgr.vbs /ato. (including the period after ato, get an error otherwise) and wait for a window to pop up, just keep hitting next as there's about 6 windows that pop up after it. What this does is let your key be converted into a W10 key so it's genuine. After doing that, I took the ISO from earlier and updated windows 7 to windows 10. On this new install, It was automatically activated and genuine. So I unplugged the ssd, plugged in the orignal drive, booted and boom... that drive also now became genuine W10:)

So to recap- to save you time and trouble, download only SP1, the major update needed which means a few updates needed to be downloaded first to get to 3035583(I think thats the name) then enter CMD and then ISO, upgrade, should be done:)

128GB for the 64bit version I believe.

That's it? Wow we are so screwed. Not enough at all:p

   Thanks

So now I've finally got around to sitting on my home computer...

The Win10 checker is saying my system is incompatible because of some crappy Air Display WDDM device (which I can't for the life of me remove?!?!)

If I download this, can I just run an upgrade and ignore the checker?

I tried getting it to re-run but it hasn't changed it's mind, nor has it decided to actually update itself :S (the check date on the report was from the 31st)
