XSPC X20 noise ?

Have have the above res / pump combo, running a 240 Monsta, a 360 Alphacool ST30, cpu and cpu block. But the pump is making a racket. It is fully bled, and has been running for about 5 days.

The noise is like the noise a pump should make but with an added rattle. I have checked Google and have done everything as sugested, even turned it upside down to release the air bubble by the pump intake hood. But the noise is still there.

I thought a few days of running would help it to break in a bit, but it was quieter on day one, than day 5. Has any body got any experience with these, and will it eventually break in or do i just have to live with it ? Cheers guys.

( Sorry my posts all seem to be noise related, But I need silence  )

Was going to suggest the same as Tom did. Might be the combo transmitting vibrations to the case itself.
Try putting something insolating between the res a drive bays to stop vibration transmission.
Some rubber washers could do the job...?

No it's deffo the pump, it is isolated, with thin rubber strips. When you put your ear up against the res, you can clearly hear it is the pump. I will double check that the rubber hasn't missed a spot and is making contact at some point.

Could it be an issue with the how many blocks you're trying to run on that?

2 blocks and 2 rads - not that rads are that restrictive, but I'd have thought you could do with something more powerful than the 720.

I know Tom used a similar set up in a CM690 a while ago, but for longer term use it isn't really recommended.

Any chance of a video so we can hear the noise?

Changing the pump / res, is on my to do list, but I was hoping for a couple of months, without having to change it. I'll upload a vid, once I find out how to.

Ps, how do you upload a video ?

Youtube?
Then just paste the link in.

Looking around, there's been a few issues - might be worth an RMA.

Who did you buy it from?

I bought it from scan, just under 2 weeks ago.

here is a vid, this isn't mine but it is exactly the same.

yeah, this was a similar question about that pump. its primary usage was for CPU
loop and not a complex loop. usually it might make a month before failure, but a
stronger style (D5 or 35?) would be a better route.

A D5 it is I think. I just need to find some pennies. Regarding my X20 would I need to RMA before the 28 days, or can it go back as a fault after that ? I'm only asking as I need to get the D5 and new res first.

No, 28 days is dead on arrival. It can then be faulty under warranty...

But, faulty under warranty normally requires a replacement, rather than a refund. So you'll need to talk to Scan to see if they'll replace it for a D5 unit, and you'll obviously make up the difference.

Be sure to take pictures of everything you send to Scan, and use recorded delivery to send back to them. Very dodgey things go on at Scan's RMA.

I have heard that about Scan, from a few sources. The problem I've got is I need to replace the combo, before I send it off. If they can only do a replacement, I can always use it for my next project, I've got brewing.

If you get a new replacement and have already bought the D5 you can always sell the replacement on eBay or something like that. For stuff that's "New in Box" you usually get almost the full price (at least that's been my general experience).

To be honest mate, if they will offer a new one, I'll keep it to use in my spare rig I'm planning. I've got all I need except, a case and cpu.
