Hi Guys,
Love this res. Really love it. Only ONE minor thing about it that I hate: the filling time. It takes WAY too long. These res' (resii?) have a couple of little wheel things near the fill port which result in many air locks, and make filling a pain.
Until recently, the only ways around this were to have a bleed port open (which is only a partial solution), use a syringe to fill (which is fine for those that like this method), or have a fill tube/funnel and be prepared to break air locks with a straw almost constantly.
I have a mod which fixes this issue, completely. Now, be warned, this mod WILL void any warranty which you may have. This is because XSPC have set the pressure in the res to a default value, and taking the res apart removes this pressure (and, voids the warranty).
Now, all you need to do for this mod is crack open the res (no, not like an egg. Unscrew the top, like on a jar!), then remove the light tube from the middle (the one with the XSPC logo on it). On this tube, you will notice two discs, one which has 4 moderate size holes in it (at the top), and one slightly lower with no holes in it, other than the one in the centre.
Remove the disc with no holes (it simply slides off, though you might need to apply a little pressure to it at first), then re-assemble the res as best you can. Assuming that you use a fillport/funnel (like I do) you will notice your fill time decrease by a factor of at LEAST 1/2.
I know, a manual like this needs pictures, and they are coming. I am currently flushing my loop (which is how I stumbled on this mod actually - funny story if you want to hear it), and then re-assembling it. I will undo the mod, and take pictures all the way through tomorrow.
Enjoy.
